I have played in many sit in go's and have done well. I have played in tournaments and have done okay. It appears to me that you can probably make the same amount of winnings in a sit n go as you can in a low end tournament.
What do you think?

Your chances of cashing in a sit n go are much greater then in a tournament, however you will usually make quite a bit more money cashing in a tournament compared to the buyin. I dont think you can really compare the two, I am sure there are people that can master cash games, sit n gos or tournys and made more in any one of the 3 over the other 2.

it's really depends how long do you have in time and i much do you aim to achieve i think ....if you have less time or if you don't wish to achieve more than 3000% in the same period of time(but of coz,you can always multi-tabling in sit n go) sit n go is way to go,or else...why not spend more time, less investments to achieve greater result(as if you last to final table or such)..
but well, that's what i think about tournaments and sit n go..

I use my SNG play to fund my Tournment play. for example a 9 player SNG pays the top 3 or a 33% chance to cash, where in most tournments you top 10% get paid. Look for qualifers that pay top 20% or so these are better odds to getting more money. The real money comes at the Final Table or really the top 3 to 4 in the MTTs.

It really depends on you. Do you have the time to invest in a MTT or a STT. You will definitely win more in a MTT about 3,000% of what you bought in for depending on what you place. A STT will only yield 400% if you take it down. If you're just looking to grind out your bankroll you have a lot better chance of making it itm in a STT than you would an MTT. And if you do make it itm in an MTT you really won't see a big difference $ wise unless you make it to the FT and place in the top 3 if not taking it down.

You're comparing apples and crap apples. Yes, it's technically possible you could buy into both for the same amount and cash the same amount. Generally speaking SNG's are faster but have a limited potential award, and MTT's take longer but have a far greater potential ROI if you go deep into them.

It all depends on the combination of luck and skilled play. If you have the best combination, you are going to win, If you don't have a good combination, you are going to lose.

Sit n goes are qucker and easier to mutl table while mtt are long but can get you a large $$ when you do go deep in one tournament. There is more variance in mtt too so it really your opinion which one you would do.

I prefer SNGs but I do also play a fair few MTTs.

I find it much easier (and it is much easier) to cash in SNGs.

The 18, 27 and 45 player SNGs are pretty good as they give a much better return for victory than the STTs and don't take more than 2 hours to complete.

I prefer MTT's to SnG's mainly because the blinds are usually longer (unless turbo, which I HATE!!) and the payout is usually bigger. My absolute fave tourney is a 6 seater MTT, freeze-out, money added, private pw protected $5 or $6 dollar buy-in. :D Thats not asking too much is it?? :p

In STT, U have to wait till the blinds go up and then go for the stealing moves. Its like push or fold.

In MTT, U have to make your plays, play some marginal hands and hit some nuts

You would go broke if you just played tournaments. Play sit n gos to build up some cash. Then get the proper bankroll to play tournaments, so if and when you get lucky you will make some serious cash in the tournament.
