Sit&go's 6 player vs more players.

I want to start playing sit & go's, but I'm not sure what kind of game should I play, if 6 players or more. (always thinking in one table only)

What kind of sit&go's do you prefer and why?

Do you use different strategies when playing them?

10 man standard speed are probably the best way to start out if you have no preference

6-mans, you play more hands and therefore more postflop play. 9 and 10-mans, you play very tight at the early levels, then start pushing wide at the later levels. I agree with the above poster that 9 and 10-mans are more suited for beginners, but if you want to get into more postflop situations, play the 6-mans.

I still havent made up my mind about 6 vs 10 man SNG. 6 man is alot less boring and potentially more skill as blinds dont become totally crazy towards the end of the game like how it can happen in 10 man games.

However the problem is that second place gets a very poor return in 6 man SNG you really have to win consistently to make good profit in it. If you are not good at heads up poker then 6 man SNG isnt for you.

Whereas 3rd place in 10 man SNG gets a better return than 2nd place in 6 man SNG. However its also interesting to note that there isnt a very big difference between the 1st place here and obviously winning a 6 man SNG is far easier than a 10 man. But finishing second is still a great result in a 10 man SNG and if you consistently do that then you will make good money.

As I stated before but its a very important point so I'll say it again that 6 man SNG is ALOT LESS boring than a 10 man SNG, in the latter things can be extremely dull at the beginning.

Another thing I have noticed is that I get far too many bad beats in 10 man SNG compared to 6 man like you know situations where you just couldnt do anything. You definitely have to adopt a "safer" approach in 10 man SNG.

Yea, I think its all been said lol. Its all preference. If I get bored with one ill try the other.

For me, 6 players S$G's are the best, because bigger amount of players make it become really as MTT..
