I registered in a 6 man turbo, but forgot I did. I remembered about 20 minutes later and rushed to my computer, and found to my pleasant surprise that I was heads up. I lost but it didn't matter, it was a big win in my eyes, because that was dead money.

I wonder if you played 10 6 man turbos sitting out, how many would you cash in?

I hate it when I realize I am doing worse, sometimes much worse, than "sitter outers", if that's a word.

I wonder the same thing Aces, can I be a winning player by not playing?

There was a movie years ago where the supercomputer realizes ".. strange game, the only winning option is not to play." I think he was "playing" at thermonuclear war, but you get the idea.

i hate it when i play those turbo sng's and theres one or 2 just sitting there, and worse when hes about to bubble and morons are playing hard against each other, what i do is tell everyone that the player is not playing and we blind him out asap,by the time they get back or try to regain some chips they are so low stacked that they loose, the only time i sit out is in the step1's at carbon, idiots there will donk all of theyre chips quick, easy way to get to step2.

That's all good in theory, but human nature takes over. The greed in all of us takes over. If there's 4 left and 1 sitting you can't possibly coordinate a fair structure in which all players equally get the chips. Much easier when there is only 2 trying to split dead money, and yes if you have 2 reasonable players, there should be no problem in dividing the chips, but lets be honest, there's a lot of dicks out there, lol.

talking about how to play, even if some one is sitting out, is colluding and can get you kicked from the site and losing your bankroll...

the sad thing is most players wouldnt understand what that means...lol. also if you know that he isnt playing then you know something some people dont and you can use that to your advantage, like stealing his blinds

I think that that was a rare occurance and you got lucky. definitely not a profitable strategy. I cant believe the other players didnt take advantage of your free money.

so true, and its those that mostly get bubbled lol,the worst that happened to me in that situation was a dominant stack kept defending and giving chips to the sitout guy, then i got bubbled lol,fun times

Haha I think it was pure luck. I have seen it tons of times in the 100 seats guaranteed to the 100k guaranteed freeroll on lock. Usually there will be about 2500 players and over 1000 of them try to sit out their way into the final 100. It just doesn't work. Can't recommend it

I think sit outs should be like in basketball.A player has 45 sec to hit the rim or the ball goes to the other player.
