i recently read somewhere that if you have a high ITM% that your probably playing to tight. i understand and somewhat agree with the reasoning behind this statement. i myself do finish ITM a lot but not as deep as i would like. also when i do get knocked out its usally to a suckout, this annoyes me a lot as i myself dont suck out much at all, is this another sign that im playing to tight??. can annyone point me in the right direction to get over this hump..

Could be too tight or too loose.

Also if you usually get knocked out by a suckout that's a good thing. You want people calling with bad hands and bad drawing odds. The thing you need to consider is did you let them get that suckout cheaply?

If you never bluff, you will never be rewarded when you have a big hand. The tight aggressive style is still profitable, but you should avoid the most players know that you play well, because if they find out will explore the most of this information. Invest all the time you can in the understanding of concepts such as c-bet, odds, pot odds, outs, pot control, shove and you will have fuel (chips) to reach the final stretch of a tournament without turning a target to be fleeced by other players.

I'm not sure I would call it playing tight or playing with patience. To play with patience means your not aggressive or wild (fish). It means you are playing hands that give you the advantage.

My goal always is to pop the bubble first, then final table, and then first place.

if you are constantly finishing on or near the money but you find yourself with shorter than average stacks you are probably playing too tight. you need to be able to have an average or above average stack as much as possible, this is so you can pick on smaller stacks which don't endanger your tournament life. the bigger your stack, the more all in showdowns you can face and be able to have a stack left over if you face the showdown and lose.

What is to tight, only pocket QQ or higer of AK AQ yes that is to tight. But if you play J9 and 10 8 as well you play perfect, ofcourse you want a cheap flop, but that works fine for me

think you always should be looking for more spots to play, but you need to play these spots for a reason, ie your capitalizing on stack tension, the villan folds lots to flop stabs, the villan folds lots to 3bets, etc etc

Position is important in relation to the playing style of the other players in the game. You prefer
having the loose, aggressive player in the game sitting to your right and the tight, conservative
player to your left. Then you can usually decide how to play your hand after the aggressive
player has acted, while you don't have to worry about many surprises from the conservative
player behind you. You are also in a better position to control the aggressive player and indeed to
trap him into mistakes. Similarly, if there are players in the game who tip off whether or not they
are playing a hand, you'd like them to your left so you can use that information when deciding
whether to call the first bet yourself.
