I've been thinking about this too. I would roughly say AJo+, 77+, AJs+. That's ~my range at the moment. Widen it a bit for 7 players. Not too sure how good this is. Interested to read some more replys.
For what it's worth, I'm not trying to force a double up here. After a couple hands, you will be on the button with 1175-1275 chips.Let´s say, i am UTG in a 45man or 180man multitable turbo sng, i have between 1400 and 1500 chips and the blinds are 75/150 (no antes). What hands should i shove with 7, 8 or 9 peole at the table ?
Do ya think perhaps this ^ was taken into consideration when people put together shove charts? .... Son. Think about it.haha you gotta some research son but overall with the combination of a premium hand, so i would personally shove with 99+ or AQ+. other than that, if someones calling you in those situations, youre most likely are gonna be beat.
do you have to shove pre flop?
id fold pairs below 10 and play up to A-10 suited prob
AQ+, QQ+ utg maybe JJ if only 7 players, but you will flip a lot. Shoving UTG is DANGEROUS. When you get closer to the button you will have more success stealing the blinds. Largely ignore advice to shove very wide if you are near a change in the pay out. People will call you with any pair, any A, most hands with a K and any 2 cards 10 or higher because they "know" you are likely to shove light. If you want standard answer look in the back of "No Limit Holdem Theory and Practice". Personally I prefer to have a real hand, or a hand that is not easily dominated to shove on a steal: ie Big A, big pairs and high suited connectors.
I`d say no. I would fold pairs bellow 10s even with that stack from UTG. I can`t count the times I have managed to build back a stack by being patient even if Im in this situation. I promisse you on the next round of blinds Im pretty sure you will find an even better spot to shove card and position-wise.
Now crucify me, but that`s how I have played with results.
ROFLMFAO, WHAT?
You cant fold 88 or 99 with 10BB if you are opening...not even UTG...those are close to premium hands and often you'll get called by worse...usually be a 53-47 fav. with an overlay in the pot when you get called....and obviously you rep huge strength by shoving UTG meaning a lot of AJ AQ KQ type hands are mucking and looking for better spots.
Remember to breathe while ur laughing If you have buy-ins higher than 30 usd maybe they will respect an UTG-shove. Unfortunatly in low-stakes they dont fold A-10+ and K-J+. I perfectly know the odds ur refering to, but I`d rather wait for a better position to shove. As I said, from my experience it`s been benefitial.
ICMtrainer puts it wider than that, at 10% of hands UTG, so 77+/QTs+/AJo+
