Had 10 bigs with 88. Villian early position big stack min raises.
I shoved. He has me covered 20k to my 6500 stack. Is this the right play?

We have seen him min raise and fold on high card flops
Thats all the information we have.

Definitely go for it here, you need to double up pronto or you will be out the door soon anyway. Big-stacked villains can and do make loose raises regardless of position, because they can afford to see flops. If he calls and turns over AA/KK, well that sucks but it's still the right play.

Thanks guys. I lost to AQ o in the sb and the original raiser folded. Flop QQ2 . So that was the end of me. Lol 54% never wins when you are short lol.

What were blinds, were there antes?
By and large yes you are ok with this line.
But nothing is a blanket statement in poker.

Yes, on 10bb it's good play. On 10bb with late postion you could try to steal with Ax, Kxs by allin.

500 250 with 50 ante if I recall correctly. (About to go up again)

my M ratio was pretty low. M = 5.4 (?)

I like your shove. 88+ for 10 BB shove is pretty strong.

Not only is it a trivial shove at 10BB....it is a snap shove at 14BB.....and even more with antes without even thinking about it UNLESS THERE ARE SOME EXTREME ICM CONSIDERATIONS.

i think the play is fine, in a standard sng without the min raise 66 or AT are good to shove, with the min raise would think 88 or AQ

with a early min raise(without a ton of reads) in a mtt, you should be able to shove even lighter

Good shove. If blinds are coming up to hang you by the neck, then you can't wait for the most premium of hands.

Easy shove.

Pair doesnt come often. This is the best hand we can get couple with being short stack.

Ya, definitely the right play here.
Don't limp and try and get cute or min raise etc then could be facing 3-4 villains and you have sacrificed most of your fold equity.
