how many times did you read that question?

Its knowledge by all that about 10-12bb we should be in a alert situation where we are about to shove all our stack trying to double up.

Who gave this amount why not shove with 8,7bb instead ?

I would like to call you to joy this thread and tell me what do you know and what do you think about it.

Way too short to be playing postflop with 10-12, even below 20 its difficult.

It's hard to play preflop and postflop later, and there is only two options: fold or Allin.

The main idea is that there is a range of hands you can profitably shove when first into the pot given the number of players behind you and the amount of big blinds you have.

You don't want to wait too long because if you get too low the other players will be more likely to call you (less fold equity). With the antes, SB, and BB the pot will become bigger in relation to your stack, essentially players will have better pot odds.

While this is a good thing when you pick up a big hand, more often than not, you will run out of chips before ever picking up that monster hand and will have missed many profitable opportunities in the mean time.

If you have no profitable opportunities to play with 10-12 big blinds, sure, keep waiting, but you will have to find a spot the next orbit or risk getting to the point where you have limited fold equity.

You can stay alive by stealing the blinds and antes once a round until you get a big hand and hopefully double-up, but that's not the only goal since winning the blinds and antes are a good result a lot of the time with a short stack.

If you play a lot of tournaments you will want to study and get to know what cards to you can go all-in with at various stack sizes, eventually it will become second nature.

Good luck to you! :D

its not a must shove but you really cant play after the flop so at some point with two good cards you have to go. still read what other players are doing you may want to get in when the odds for a triple up are good with suited connectors but you will need luck on your side

I like more options like fold and allin than gambling with calling too many and miss the draw few times in a row which will eat my stack

I get to 20 BB then it's shove time. ~10 BB then any two will do.

The higher your stack when you shove, the more likely you are to steal the pot. If you become too short the chance of being called by a large stack will increase.

if u get short by getting trash cards and u r under 10 bb sure your fold equite when you shove is low.this u try avoid and take action before this happen and shove even earlier with 10-12 bb and extract max value from the cards u play.slow roll can punish u if u allow weak hands get involved in action

Good morning, I really do not know how to play post-flop, but I've had the same thoughts of wanting to push everything with 10 or 15 bbs more nowadays, to give you more time to push it with 10 and 12 bbs. Of you with 5bb I believe.

Seen much info to the contrary

Way too short to be playing postflop with 10-12, even below 20 its difficult.

I would disagree that below 20 is difficult to play postflop, with a 3x raise by a late position and if you are in the small or big blind it is only 2 or 2.5 more blinds to see a flop and you might be last to act. This could be beneficial as you know at worst you would have only 1 caller if you get all in, in a position like this. that would also leave you with anywhere from 9 to 17 bbs to shove with and if you have anything from 12-17 bbs then you may be able to get someone off a draw if you hit a pair or have a pocket pair.
