The fact that you would have flopped quads, is irrelevant..

We have zero information that is needed to make a decision on whether or not you where to supposed to call, raise, or fold.

We are missing stack sizes, we don't know if it is a tournament or cash game, if it is a cash what are the stakes, if it is a tournament what point of the tournament are we at (how many left before money) is it early, middle, late....what are the blinds, are there antes...

If you could include this information we will be able to give you an accurate answer.

Thanks in advance

flop is irrelevent (as stated above)

calling OOP with 77 is not going to make you a lot of money in a cash game or MTT, if you smell a rat you should reraise always or shove if you dont have the chips behind the raise to play the hand.

did you suspect he was not hold a big pair?
you would have to have a read to RR.
if no read, you fold, never call.
if you hit trips, you will never get paid enough being OOP.

Correction on what I wrote I see the stack sizes.

however, even without the other information It's a good fold. If you had more info on the villain an argument for jamming could be there but one hand doesn't tell us anything.

Not knowing the stack size makes this more difficult to answer. But with a bet of that size you have to assume he has a much stronger hand definite fold.

Ok, you lost a four of a kind which it is a rare hand, it is difficult to play it. You could play under safer conditions. The huge raise of your opponent shows that there is something strong. So you chooze the safer way!

Looks like a good fold to me because you couldn't have known the flop at that point.

Calling just wasn't an option. Only other thing you could've done is go all in but that depends on your history with the villain.
