Lately I been making really far and sometimes places in the money with paid to play tourneys. I feel that I make more money playing toruneys then doing ring games. Which I usually loose my whole bank roll most of the times by gambling.
Think it's because no one can kick me out or tell me it's over until I have nothing left. (self control issue ) So I'm thinking of all playing tourneys now on and never playing ring games again unless I need a distraction while playing a tourney.

What do you guys think? Best game plan for me?

I think , u answer alone yourself , im similar player playing lot of MTT's but in ring games i'm only playing SnG "double or nothing" . So i think u should keep building your bankroll from MTT's. GL

Gl playing in MTT's there are some very good MTT grinders on this site FYI and if I were you I'd ask them in general how they got so good and any tips they might suggest for you..

The upside to playing tourney is the money is top heavy, and you can usually make ITM with a tight play

Down side to this is, the fish come out in large numbers, the chances of making ITM is decent but the chances of making top end money is very slim unless your running way to hot in the said game..

GL in the tourney you do decide to play in and hope you run good

You got the idea right, we each need to find our own niche. Be sure to look at the sitngo's tabs as those are also MTT, I believe, as I see they can be 18 and 45 player tournaments, too.

Just a guess, but something tells me you are playing ring games exactly how you play tournaments. It's completely different and you need to adjust from one to the other. Tournaments require fast play and more risk-taking because of the rising blinds. In ring games, you need patience - plain and simple.

Learn one at a time when starting out! Cash games and tournaments require completely different thinking.

Just play whatever you enjoy the most!
In time you'll adjust your strategy for ring games too.
I, myself, play mainly MTTs, but I've started to play some 1 table SnGs, I find them quite similar to ring games in term of strategy. Patience is the key!

mtt variance is crazy....most players make consistent money from cash games. if you have the roll for mtts go for it but there will be blood...lol

Not meaning to derail but this comment really caught my attention.... Sng's & ring are VERY different in terms of strategy. Might be worth taking a look at a Sng Strategy Guide.

as one who plays mostly mtts, for the simple reason i do not have the focus and concentration needed for cash games, could this be reason you do better in mtts.that is not to say you dont have to concentrate so much in mtts, but in cash one mistake can cost you most of your bankroll.

Yeah they're not even close. SNGs require keeping up with the fast-moving blinds. In ring games, there will be long stretches where you're folding every hand preflop without having to worry about blinds eating your stack. In fact, a lot of players play the two similarly, and these are the players that either bust out of ring games quickly or build a stack and give it all back to the table soon after.

I think the costly mistake would be taking most of your bankroll onto a cash table. If a player is playing with decent bankroll management, it's impossible to lose the majority of one's roll from one mistake.
