Should i have played this tournament differently

I was playing in my pub league tavern championship yesterday. I had about i 170 point lead going in the tournament. I needed too get too 10th place and i win the overall tavern championship at the bar a play at. So when play begam me and the second in the pints played at the same at the same table. I was down too my last 1200 chips with blinds at 100-200 i was dealt a-10 suited spades and decided too go all in fold too the button who was the chip leader and second in points. He says i need u too finish in 11th and i need too win too get the tavern overall title so im behind but im going too call u. Sb and bb bothfold. As we turn up the cards i had him crushed he turned over 10-7 but the flop would not go my was as he flopped trip 7s and i had the flush draw that i didnt get which took me out in 11th place. As of this time i dont know i he got the first place he needed too too win the overall championship in points should i have played this tournament differently?
