Its important we know his skill level and his range. For me AJ is a fold if I have a big enough stack to cash facing an early raise. alot of the time from an early position raise he's going to have a hand which has us beat enough of the time to make it -EV for us.
Its alot safer to regain position on the table and open some hands, pick up some pots without risking potentially 50% or more of our stack or getting knocked out.
the important thing to remember is dont get into your head that you have to play AJ in any particular way in any given game because the situation willl always differ.
but for the record after he raises the flop and you hit second pair on turn, its a great spot to Ship it in if he's going to be betting top pair alot of the time
its a tough spot for villain with QA/KA a fold is ok because we pick up the pot. and your winning most of the time when called
