I was playing in a KO tournament earlier today with the worst run of luck, I only had one bounty. I needed at least sixth place to break even on my entry. I was on the final table in seventh place and I'm all-in at the small blind position with QT, 1 1/2bb, called only by big blind. Cards turn over... he has seven, deuce... and he takes it.

The other guy had a substantial stack, but would you call in that position, knowing that you could double up the short stack?

I would also have called with 72o because he only had to top up with 1/2BB which he could easily afford. Also he thought you had nothing also so it was a good play for him. He just got lucky that's all.

a simple rule of tournament poker - if you have less than 9 bb then you have to play all-in !!!!

Remember that 72 has about 1/3 chances of winning against any non paired hand, so yea his call definetely makes sense

in KO knockout tournament, a lot of players play on a small map and a small card plays better than big cards or pairs, I also had more than one time that I did not get into the prize zone on the map TK TQ TJ QQ and I was interrupted by cards 27 - 97 - 67-- 86 I do not know if such a small card is better for such a tournament, but to fold big i
high cards s stupid!

If your all-in is so small its pretty likely to get called by somebody, definetely when playing bounty tournaments. Try to go all-in when having a larger stack, then those hands wont call you anymore.

I bet 72 is played even more frequently than 94, for example. If not for other reason then for fun and making other players more tilty, when you take a pot with 72...

He would double you up if he folded, he obviously has to call with any two cards even if you had much more chips in a KO tournament.

Yes it is too small a stack to shove to have any fold equity against a good stack. It's worth a shot to take you out. Sorry.

You didn't have any fold equity, plus that was a KO tournament, where you adjust your ranges when you have a possibility to get a bounty anyway.

72 - math is trash, but if no bet or small bet, why not?

I wouldn't have called if I was him. The small stack can only last so long, id have waited for a better spot.

That's my thinking, a quick double up and the knockout becomes twice as hard
