Playing on carbon like usual. I got top 100 in the 100 seat freeroll decided to switch it up and play the second chance 109 + 1 rebuy only instead. i late reggied when it hit 50 ppl to place the top ten, the late reg just closed and there is a lil over 60 with top ten cashing 59 player left. every starts with 5k. im at 4300. everyone is playing very knit. both hands i played against were against pocket queeens and jacks. everyone is playing primo.

Anyone here play carbons high stake tournies? your pointers would be grateful even if its after the tourney is over for the next time.

why decide to play the rebuy when you dont have enough money to rebuy/add-on? You shouldve played the 100k. But anyway I guess just play really tight.

Yea i did play extremely tight lol and it was working to my advatange most of the time. In the BB i had AKo , cutoff raises like usual, then a guy in the SB that was just dumping chips 3 bets all in . i ponder for a sce but i was almost postive i had him probably dominated so i called all in for about a 16k pot. the orignal raiser folds and the SB shows A4 of spades. the board blanks with one spade, the turn gives is a 6 of spades wich gives him a spade draw and open ended straight draw. river is a red 8 giving him the 4 straight. its depressing getting hit on the river like that , but at the same time im a little happy because i got my money in good and i didnt blow up .. SO what can you do?

I've never played either.. (have railed a couple of players).. 'but', I'd imagine the $100K would be far fishier than the other one. The HSMTT regs. from US who used to play Stars & FTP will probably make up a good % of the field in that $109 rebuy (I would assume & also from checking out the lobby of the bigger buyin MTTs on Merge now)

Are US players able to register again on merge now? I got an invite from someone but i wasn't sure if it was just for that one etc.

Yea there were some good players and it ended up taking 4 hrs to complete! lol that was a big reason i decided to play that because i didnt want to have to play for 7-8hrs just to make the FT, also i figured since it was a 1 rebuy was allowed they would play a little bit looser and they did. when i registered 50 ppl had and the top 10 paid out . thats pretty good odds for me :))
I also had played/watched with a few of the players that were playing the 109 second chance so i thought i had a good chance. i would of had a GREAT chance of winning if my hand would have held, but like one of my poker role models would say, "thats poker baby!"
