Does anyone have any interesting stories about seeing players running like god in MTTs??
Ive seen a few in freerolls where players pick up a big stack early and then proceed to constantly shove and always seem to hit. But im talking more about games with some sort of buyin or in the later stages.
I was playing a 45 man 3euro game last night and joined the final table as chip leader. There were two shortstacks and one of them went on the biggest heater I've ever seen lol
He started the final table with just under 1.5K (which was the initial starting stack). The first hand of the FT the short stacks both went allin. AT against AK and the heater guy held up to double up and cripple the other short stack. Next hand the crippled guy shoves his 1BB stack UTG and gets reshoved on by a medium stack with 99. Heater guy calls with AA and doubles up, taking a player out and more than doubling up again.
Next hand we were SB and BB. Folds round to me and I raise with TT, he raises me and i shove. I hate playing 99, TT, JJ oop in this sort of spot and his stack was ok to shove against. He called with QQ and doubled up through me.
So he's now up to about 13K and is one of the bigger stacks. 2 or 3 hands later he stacks off with another big stack and has AA vs KK and takes a huge pot.
By the time we were back round to SB BB again, there are 5 players left and hes chip leader with about 27K. I have A5 diamonds on the SB and it folds round to me. I limp and he raises. I call the raise coz i thought he might be getting aggro with the run hes on. Flop comes out two diamonds J66. I check and check raise his cbet which he calls. Turn is a blank so i bet out hoping to take it down. He calls again and the river is an ace. I think I've rivered him at this point so shove the rest of my stack and he calls with AA!! This isnt a sympathy post coz i dont think i played the hand well!
The guy is now on 43K and no one on the table had more than 6k when i closed the table. But this guy hit AKsuited , AA, QQ, AA and AA in one round!! What i'd give for that sort of run lol
