Hey I know its to reduce variance, but the number of buy ins shouldn't depend on the field of players in a tournament? I mean: if you play the Sunday storm for example which has a field of at least 30k, my personal instinct tells me that having 100 buy-ins could not be enough to eliminate variance. And hence, if the field is very small, like 18 players, could it be lower that 100 buy ins? Do you guys ever wondered that? And also, do you kow if there's a formulae to calculate this?

Are there any players that only play The Sunday Million?

I just use it as a rough guide, so $25 bankroll means I restrict myself to 25c tournaments, for example.

I dont follow the brm I look at people events etc.. how am playing how cards are treating me a bunch of factors and have spent my entire bankroll for things that made sense at least on full flush and bet online since have so many freerolls lol know will win again sooner rather then later haha.

Yet have 30 approx on carbon acr and black chip and have done up to 5.00 mtt's I know others would disagree but again what do I have to lose really?

I am trying to stick to 1.00 to 3.00 events but they dont pay at end what am truly looking for.

If have a bad one though I will shut down and free it rest of day etc..

yup, you nailed it basically op, other relevant factors are the average field size, the distribution of your buyins, your expected edge/ROI (which will be lower in turbos etc), and the rake you pay.

100 bi it's only for sng and cash....

For MTTs you need minimum 400bi and more ( low buy-ins and higher) , to feel comfortable..

100 bi for cash ? you really think so?

If you want play sng like 18 players you should have min 100bi.

Why do you need such a big bankroll ? :D

For SNG 18players regspeed enough and 40bi, if you beat the limit of course.. 100 Bi is very much for SNG and to lose all bankroll in micro and low buyins it is almost impossible, you must be very bad player...

And for medium buy-ins also enough 100bi, you can always goes down in limits, if you start to to lose...

For cash also enough 50-100 bi, for micro and low buy-ins...

400 for MTTs?? You are way too tight. I was thinking something like 200-250 buyins would be ok

LOL....One buy-in is all I need.....build from there. The more buy-ins I have, the looser my game seems to get but the smaller my roll in proportion to the buy-in, the better I play.....LOL! Don't listen to me if you're serious about grinding; however, larger paydays are directly proportional to larger risk and more extreme focus. LMAO!

I bankroll off a few major rules, this is just what I like though...

#1 - 100+ Buy-Ins
#2 - Highest Value guarantee tournament (no need to play a lower guaranteed tourny for the same buy in if you can just wait until tomorrow)
#3 - If you go under 100 Buy Ins for all tournies available, it's time to hit up those freerolls again

Hope this helps!

this ^

One other note, in your example you used 'Sunday Storm'. Personally I think that particular tournament is far easier to cash in then many others as it is sooooo full of bad players. But generally 'yah'.. if the avg. field size you're playing is on the large size you will need to up the # of buyins.
