was playing a Sit 'n Go...

6 player table

Each player started with 1,500 chips And you have to get 3rd place to cash.

There are 4 players left

Everyone had a healthy stack but me.

My stack was 700 chips

BB was up to 150 and small blind was 50

I was in last position to act and had A10

There were also no raises in front of me and the players were not all that aggressive. Had maybe one slightly loose player

I went all in preflop.

Bad move or good?

Good. & super standard (folding would be ridiculously bad)

Absolutely the right move. I push is this spot with any Ace, any two broadway, any suited connectors, any pair.

Yep, agree. With 3.5 M? I'm certainly pushing with AT.

Congratulations - good move. If it didn't work out sorry about that. Hell I just had AA cracked last night with 4 left at the table by 24s (he went all in vs my BB) who rivered a straight.

How can you not see what is going to be the best play here? I'd be worried that you have to check that shoving is going to be best in probably the most super standard spot you'll ever come across.

Because he is new to poker perhaps?

At some point you must have misplayed AT - oh wait - forgot - the poker god's are born with this knowledge.

Now you apologize to Mister Nutts for not making a quality post.

AT is an above average hand in that position with that stack. Good play.

Yeah that's the right move. The double up SnG's always end up like that when it gets down to the final person.
Even if nobody called, you earned another big blind, and you live to see another hand

A10 was is of course a bad hand, yeah you made the right decision considering your stack size. I'm glad people out here are agreeing.

completely agree :) when you're down to 4 BBs, firstly, you either got really unlucky on a hand, or, didn't push soon enough. But the way I see it, you only have 2 choices at this point: Push or Fold.

you pushed with AT, I would have pushed with any hand with an Ace.

You made the right call and I hope you managed to get back some chips. :)

You made the correct play , but maybe try and find spots to get your stack in earlier before you reach this point . We lose alot of fold equity once we are under 10bbs in tournament style poker .

I'd look at what hands you played before that that led you to having 5 BB at this point. It might be you did everything right the last 10+ hands you played and the deck just stopped you, this is variance, and is fine so long as you did everything right.

But once you're here, you have to pick a stand. So you shove.

Good move youre in late or mid position and you are smallest stack that means you have to double up and A10 in that position is a great card!

With M so small, that AT would become now a super strong hand.

You cant ask for more.
