When playing at my local casino in NL holdem turny ($22 800 chips), rebuys are available ($10 for 500 chips as long as you have under 1001 chips for the first to rounds (15 min each). So do you think its better to get a rebuy right away and start with more chips or just play your 800 and if you bust out buy1500 more for $30. Personaly i like to play with the 800 and rebuy if i bust out but most people do not. What would you do?

I havn't really played enough rebuy tournaments to know a good strategy on them.

From what I have read though, its a personal preference, some people prefer to take the addon as soon as they can others like to wait.

The players who get an immediate addon are planning on playing aggressively. I play my normal tournament style in rebuys, I just look at it like I have a shot to get back in if I make a mistake. I almost always addon after the first hour as long as I am playing well. The problem with rebuys is some players will fire with reckless abandon the first hour because they know they can just reload with more chips! The good part about that is if you play correctly your big hands will get paid off much more often!

Rebuys

I think rebuys are good from the beginging. They might make the game more expensive, but if you have a great hand and someone goes all in you have more money to call with can double up more.

when playing in freerolls, then I would say rebuys is stupid for obvious reasons. There's "cruise mania" at Ladbrokes that is a freeroll, and it has rebuys, the only money the price pool has is the money that comes from those who buy themselves back in, I'd say u should try to bluff less in a rebuy tourney since people will take alot of chances, unless u planning on doing it urself ;)
