Anyone have strong feeling one way or the other about rebuy tournaments? They are not my favorite way to play poker but I'm open to other points of view.

Rebuy tournament is not one of my favourite tournament because its took longer time to finish and it seem the donks always seem to have the upperhand in this tournament cause they could always rebuy even they are beaten.

i also hate rebuys and add ons (excepting reward goes up than) becuse generally it takes long time to eliminate much playersa and need to play very tight because like 80% of hands are all in by shortstack rebuyers so it destory game.

Rebuys are going to warrent looser play because people want to build a stack, most often however they build it only to lose it because they don't adjust to building a stack. They are not for everyone, personally not for me although don't mind a 1r1a type game or maybe even a regular 30 minute rebuy period however the 3x rebuy are nuts.

IMO you need some dicipline to play the rebuy to not go crazy and end up invested to the point where you need top3 to win.....at most limit yourself to spending no more than what would break you even if you only min cashed (which is usually probably 6-7 bullets).

If you are going to play a rebuy then plan to have at least 2-3 bullets you are going to rebuy for or it puts you at a disadvantage of playing on scared money if you have no plans to rebuy.....renetry I wont even get started on but its not a rebuy.

Either way if following a good brm of say 100bi for mtt's then you should have 100bi x total amount for the tourny (which is initial bi + 2-3 rebuys). So 1$ rebuy = 400$ br IMO to be properly rolled for them.

Just some thoughts to throw out there as opposed to just saying i don't like them all that much lol....Good Luck

You must have plenty of bullets to reload here.

For limited BR, this is not a place for us.

I played a live rebuy $150 buy a few weeks back.

awful players kept getting knocked out rebuying. and one guy who was insulting the table calling most the players shocking and so bad. re-bought 5 times.

on the 5th time He busted me with 53 off suit (I had pocket 10's on a 3-3-8 Board.
The fact he should of been gone a long time before this annoys me.

The only time I like rebuys is if im online and its small buy in.

pokerstars 60k 99 Rebuy, I will invest upto 10 dollers in order to get a big stack and have come close to winning a few times

Seems like everyone has a love/hate relationship with the rebuys. I don't mind them, they give you a second chance if you get wiped out by a bad beat or have a bad run of cards, but as has already been said BRM is the key.

Whenever I am playing in a rebuy tournament, I am always willing to make at least two or three rebuys. My main aim during rebuy period is to make a big stack so that my further tourny path will be smooth.

the problem with rebuys tournament is that players play almost any two cards to build a decent chip size, playing tight in those tournament is the best strategy and you can more a huge pots with Ak or any premium hands , playing a big pairs too is possible against 1 or two oppenements.

I don't like them personally...

With that being said, if you are planning to play in one of those tourneys with an unlimited amount of rebuys in the first hour, be prepared to rebuy! Don't sign up for a rebuy and plan on only using one buy-in, it puts you at an extreme disadvantage

I dont like rebuys either.

PS has got this 100K Privilege ffreeroll.

Available for Chromestars and the first month after first deposit.

They cost 0.1 $ per rebuy maks 3 and one addon.

Not much money but they get their spendings back every time.

The best way to win money in them is not to make rebuys.

Most rebuys i guess are made by newbies.

I hate rebuy tournaments. Players in them plays very stupid (if buy-in is low) and it totally ruining the game to others.

Not a fan of rebuys, requires different strategy from freeze out

tourneys. Lots of bad play during the rebuy period, if you're not willing to

use at least 2-3x bullets you may become a victim and resort to short stack

grinding the rest of the tournament.

I used to really like them on Pokerstars before Black Friday (won a lot of T$ that way :) but now I don't like them for some reason. I just play them like a regular tourney, never rebuying or adding on (except for some weird tourney structures that I have studied for awhile :)

I play often rebuy satelittes at full tilt poker and I have won some money those way. There are a lot of people playing bingo and with premium hands you can win big pots. I myself don't rebuy often only when it's at the beginning and very low in price.

I used to hate them, but they are growing on me and here's why:

Builds a much bigger prize pool for a smaller rake
If you play them well you can easily pay only $5 fit a tourney where the average buy in is something like $10-15

Yes, you need to be willing to gamble early to build a stack...then when you build a stack you need to adjust. (As in calm down and look for good spots). gambling early doesn't mean going crazy, but for instance you're probably never folding 2 pair or the nut flush draw on the flop...

Yes, you need to be willing to fire 2-3 bullets, but only when conditions are ripe. For me this means my stack will still be relevant (better than push fold) and I feel I can outplay several people at the table.

Re-entries are dumb because you pay the rake again and you get moved to a new table (so starting from scratch)

Oh yes..... It drives me nuts to get knocked out by somebody who I already knocked out!

Once I knocked out the same guy twice. He kept rebuying and finally built a stack..then rebuy period is over and he knocks me out...grrrr

I definitely prefer non rebuy tournaments over rebuys. for reasons stated above. People will play stupid and free then rebuy you get a read on them and they play shite cards and then boom you are the one knocked out for not playing 7-2 off suit.
