I've had success first playing as long as i can makeit with the starting chips, if you have enough credit don't be afraid po pay flop and look for good hands, 5 minutes before re buy ends go all in with a good hand or try to make some schips, if you have less than 1500 chips go all in, if you win youll have enough chips to trart the tournament with no rebuys, if you loose pay your buy in, after that pay the add-on, that way you'll have 6000 chips or more to start playing the following tounds

I love rebuy tourneys: I rebuy right away and then use add on feature sometimes you will be lucky and get some fish at table who go all in with nothing building a good stack early get you in the money most of the time you just have to have patience to get good cards -gl see ya at the tables.

Usually I don't rebuy.Sometimes I see good players who make buy-in and then addon in the end of entry, it's a nice strategy.

My strategy is simply not to get bogged down in such tournaments.

I'll give you $10 to play in a tournament. You have two choices:

Tournament #1 is an ordinary MTT.

Tournament #2 starts with many of the players having larger starting stacks than yours. Then, later, many of the players will have more chips added to their stacks.

Which one do you choose?

If you are playing a tournament that allows players to rebuy to double their stack at the start of the tournament and has add-ons, then you are playing the second tournament.

I see people doing this frequently, and I don't know what they are thinking. Either take the rebuy and add-on, or play a different game.

P.S. I am not actually giving any of you $10.

I am tight-passive player. My strategy is very simple: 4-5 rebyus and add-on. I play one hand of 15-20 hands.
I think agressive players need rebuys too

personally I prefer not to rebuy...if I am bumped off I'd rather start a new tournament with the low starting blinds

The only time I'd consider a rebuy is if I went out quickly on a bad beat. Which would probably put me at least slightly on tilt. Which means I'll probably lose that rebuy too quickly. So no rebuys.

I don’t mind these tournaments but they do allow you to be more careless which adds a different angle to the game

You only pay rake once in RB/A MTTs, so how are poker sites getting your money faster?

the secret is not to make rebuy at the beginning of the mtt more yes at the end the advice to play tight tight until the level of the add on will accumulate chips when the period of the add on makes one and then play aggressive good luck at the tables.

I say stay away from them if you don't have a healthy bankroll.. There is never really any real poker going on until after the rebuys have ended.. Donkfest until then and if you manage to stick around till then you usually have rebought at least once if not more times..

Yeah don't play them. I avoid them like the plague. Rebuys only benefit people with deep bankrolls and pros.

Freeze outs is where it's at. Everyone has one bullet and you can push people around and strike fear into them. If you get bad beat, AA's cracked o well. That's tournaments for you.

if the rebuy/addon period is an hour and you go out at 31 minutes, do not rebuy. It's harder to get enough chips to break even. It's not impossible but just so much harder. Check that if you get into the money you still getting your buyin money back. You'll be suprised how many tournaments don't work that way. I prefer staying away from rebuy tournaments simply because they more expensive and you not really winning a lot.

Then don't play rebuys at all cost because you're just putting yourself at a disadvantage.

Stick to freezeout MTTs.
My mistake, thats usually exacty what I do play, but on the offchance i play in a rebuy tournament I really try to avoid doing just that. But yes I much prefer no rebuy mtt's myself

Maybe 1 % of the tournaments at BOL are rebuy add-on. Since that where I started my BR, I had to find strategies to gain small edges. I’ve come to really enjoy them and cash and final table somewhat often.
All I can say is I’m up right now... haha
