Hi guys,

I'm interested in finding your opinion on something. I'm micro MTT player and I also play satellites to low and midstake MTT's (11-44), and lately, since I don't have the time to unregister and take the tournament money, I have to play into this.

This weekend I went deeper in big 22, being eliminated on 33 or 35 from more than 5000 people. When I reached the final 50, I saw that 80% of the people were mid to high stake players (playing also 55, 215, and 1000 WCOOP buy ins) and I saw that most of them had very nitty stats (over 30 40 hands), and in my opinion they were playing ABC poker, nothing spectacular like bluffs, floating, a lot of 3Bet, not stealing too much or 4Bet, etc., things that I was expecting to see at this level.

The only difference that I saw is that they are pushing more wide with 10 12 BB and calling shoves lighter when they are 10-15BB.

I'm considering myself a winning player at micro MTT and I think that if I will build a bankroll I will be able to be a winning player (of course with a smaller winrate) also in low midstakes (11-109).

Do you think I'm wrong?

Thanks.

I don't doubt it for a second. There are people out there that make a good living playing MTTs with an average buy-in of $10.

Getting through large fields in the $3, $5, $11, up to $44 range is about playing quality cards aggressively, knowing push/fold spots, short-stack play, and evaluating hands against loose opponents' wide ranges.

Of course, when you get to the $55, $109 and higher range, there are players that can put you in tough spots if you just play ABC poker.

That being said, large field MTT's are about the highest variance out there, so make sure you have enough buy-ins to put in high volume and endure bankroll turbulence!

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables! :D

Thanks for the answer. This exactly what I was thinking, because I've played also 44 buy in and I saw the same things. So, if you think the same, I will not make withdrawals, and I will try to reach a 2000$ roll in order to play up to 22$ and satellite into 33-55$ ones :).

playing the mid-stakes enother from the game at the micros, you have got the initial opinion, and it is often mistaken, since this limit you will most likely minus profit, but what are you good pass in such tournaments is shots and it is still a I look far away, but in the big stakes tournaments cost more on the need to win the FT to be a profit, and all time )))

I didn't understand very well your comment:). But you are right regarding the last phrase. Anyway in all MTT's you have to FT, if you don't you will not make profit. I remember when I was a beginner, I was playing just to get in the money and of course I was losing long term:).

Also this days, when I'm on the bubble, very short stack I'm waiting to get in the money, but I'm not considering this a mistake.

Playing part time, I don;t have big expectation. I would like once per year to win a MTT which has first price 10.000-20.000. It will be actually my annual income from my current job:)).
