I have been playing a lot of the Double Up SnG 6max recently. I was winning at a very good clip as all you have to do is outplay three of the players to cash. I moved up in buy ins figuring I might as well make more money since I was successful at the level I was playing.

Since moving up, I have not went without cashing once and am thinking I should jump up again, but I fear I might be moving up too quick. At what point should I decide I am capable to be successful enough a level up? Right now I am flirting with another jump, but since I am making money and building the bankroll I don't know whether to just hold tight and continue building or if I am wasting valuable time while I could be doing just as well or better by advancing.

Just looking for some opinions. Thanks.

Play a decent sample so you know it's not just run good and have enough BIs to be using proper BRM.

Long as you remember proper BRM I think you should try to move up.
Its impossible to give any exact advice. Best way to find out is to give it a shot.

The double ups are a great way to build a bankroll. Between variance, bad beats, and the rake it can still be tough in the short term to stay ahead of the game, so if you do move up don't get discouraged too quickly. After a while, you may start seeing familiar names at the tables, and you'll get a good idea of how they play. That can help you over time, and it might be the edge you need at the higher stakes. :)

Add in one higher buy-in game per session for every 5 win gain you make at what is now your standard game. Do it as a treat, a reward for playing well. If you win, you can repeat, if not, wait until you are up another 5 buy-ins at your standard game.

There should come a time when you might be playing 50-50 at two different buy-ins. This was normal and natural for me, and I gotta think that most folks will go thru something like that.

You have learned the most important thing at the low levels, patience. Keep that patience and you will likely do fine. Funny thing about moving up is that by wanting and asking about it, you are showing (we all do/did) the very impatience that will work against you.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I seem to have jinxed myself as I am running bad since making the post. Some of it out of my control, such as have a shove called when I was way dominant only to have the donk catch runner runner to beat me. I thought I had kept my cool after that, but things have been a battle since that occured. Got off the snide first thing this morning however, so hoping to keep it in the right direction again. Didn't think I was tilting, but based off several poor performances which only ended once I finally decided to stop for the night, it must be the case.

I will utilize the advice you guys have shared and continue to use patience at the current level as I have now witnessed that it can turn bad in the blink of an eye. Gonna keep grinding!
