strategy is only as good as those who know what strategy to use at what time. You can't just say i'm going to do this and this, alot of it depends on the table and what they will let you get away with. In general i'm always on the attack, if players let me, i will raise their blinds almost always until they do things that make me change my mind about how i play vs them. I'm always testing players out and don't mind losing a few chips to work out who the weak targets are preflop and who to stay away from more. But in general attack attack attack... I never really worry too much about image, or playing tight so that i can steal more later, people who do that generally are just missing out on profitable situations. Having said all that, be prepared to be put into interesting decisions postflop and to be put in spots you have not faced before, but that is all a part of learning.
I can't really answer anything without generalising things, usually most people play way too tight, not just preflop but 3betting ranges, calling and shoving ranges when short. But obviously i havent seen you play, so no one can really help you that much.
It could also have something to do with variance, if you have played like 50 tournaments i wouldn't worry too much about not going deep in tournaments, however if you have played 2k tournaments and have never final tabled or gone super deep id be starting to question things alot more.
So if you realy want help post hands where you are unsure of what to do in game. Quite happy to look over a few of your HH as well when i have a spare minute, pm me if you're interested.
