Anybody play these?

I tried one today using Ms to determine my gear shifts, but there is a lot of limping, as it's only 5 chips to see the flop.

So is the difference here basically that you can call with more speculative hands late in the tournament? Or should that still be avoided, as anyone with a hand should make a big raise? 5 chips is so tempting, even if you get raised off...

Any other ideas about this format?

Thanks,

i would call with some speculative hands, like 78 suited and similar hands like Q 10 suited.

I'll start limping with a much larger range of hands when antes get much bigger @ around the 100+ levels because of pot odds alone, but will be ready to fold to any significant sized raise.

Pot stealing becomes more crucial at the later stages of this game and your M is just as important. Ive noticed a lot of newer players don't base their PFRs on the size of the pot already and many do the standard 4-5x BB raise and get called down a lot. It's a good strategy to play your big pairs super strong, even open shoving to pick up the pot if it's a large % or your stack. I played one last night and I open shoved AA UTG for 12K, antes at 600. It seems silly when it's just 10 in blinds, but I picked up a nice 5.4K pot. Big pairs and big hands like AK are hands you want to play super strong with really big raises/shoves when antes are a high because the pots are big enough to try and win uncontested. On the opposite end, small pairs and suited connectors are hands you want to limp in/call a small raise with because you're getting tons of odds to set-mine or hit a will hidden strong hand.

You'll notice if players are adjusting by how they play with antes go up and if they change how much they raise PFR or if they're folding way to often while getting tons of odds to call.
