So for the last week I've been enjoying some success playing 360s on pokerstars but only placing (12 times out of 17) with my highest finish 4th. (I have won one 360 before)

A quick example of how Im going at the moment. I got a royal flush earlier, I still have the hand up in a window if someone can tell me how to post it. Carried on running to 30k then got 10s all in against 3 people didnt stick, then 9s again didnt stick and finally AQ also didnt stick.

Any advice would be really appreciated feels like im not moving forward fast enough

thanks a lot

12 out of 17 is great, however if you are getting there really short stacked often, then you might be better off actually cashing less often but giving yourself more chances at going deeper for those top 3 spots which is where you make the majority of good ROIs or profit.

Only advice i have is to just always strive to learn and get better, post hands you didn't know how to play in HA or look to get some coaching or poker training sites/books on poker theory.

Thanks mate, I appreciate the info. The thing is I actually go into the later stages average stacked or more, I think I kinda hit the nail on the head last night though. I was playing a 180 and was tournament leader for pretty much the whole tourney ended up placing third. What I did differently was as soon as the blinds starting getting to the 800bbs I tightened up so much only playing top hands. So effectively I used the start of the tourney as a stack builder playing speculative hands and straight/flush draws. Built a big stack then sat on it watching people getting knocked out.

Any thoughts?? ps. Ive read Small stakes no limit holdem by Ed Miller, David Sklansky, and Mason Malmuth.

Sounds like you are doing good to me and it is working for you.
Two royals in two days is awesome. I haven't had one in close to ten years. You should have been here earlier this month and played in the scavenger hunt. A few of us were chasing the royal flush for days multitabling. Keep an eye out for the next scavenger hunt. They are fun to play in.

Sounds like whatever you're doing is working well. Keep it up and keep studying your game, identify the mistakes you're making (because we all do make them) and see if you can plug those gaps. That should help you continue doing well.

If you can, save it as a JPG (copy/paste it into MSPaint) and post the hand up here for all of us to see. It's always great to get a Royal in a game.

You also mention that you feel you are not moving fast enough. Well, it's about patience. As I said above, and others have I'm sure, keep doing what you're doing. In time, you will see that some plays you used to make, you don't and vice versa.

Good luck at the tables.

Okay will try and get them both up here.. they're pretty weak quality phone pics now cuz the pokerstars replay hand windows closed..

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. I think I will just cruise for a while now then have a look in a couple months see how I'm doing. I need to learn to correct a few things as you say but first I need to identify the problems.

What buyins are you playing? > Cashing 12/17 is a great start however turbos are long-term high variance games, it is very easy to make mistakes in them and can indeed be costly. Once your done with your session each day, go back and check the notable hands or ones you had trouble with and just think about them, posting the trouble spots here on CC will be very benefitial aswell :) > As you play more and more of these your turbo game will improve greatly and you will know what ranges to play in certain spots vs certain players > just keep practicing and keep it up.
Also 2 royal flushes in 2 days!!!! You lucky bastid > I've been playing online poker for 7+ years and have not gotten a single one in Hold'em

How to take and post a screen shot.

1. Press print screen (it may be Prnt Scrn) on your Keyboard or if you have a window within a window press Alt and print screen together to capture the active screen.

2. Open MS Paint.

3. Press Ctrl and v simultaneously, or right mouse click and then paste.

4. Press Alt then f together go to the save as menu and then to JPEG

5. Select Jpeg from the menu and name your file, and select save and choose where to save the file. (usually in pictures)

6. When ready to post make sure you go advanced or click post reply which automatically takes you to the advanced area, at the top of the advanced reply box, click on the paper clip icon. Pictured below.

Manage Attachments Button

Then click Manage Attachments

When new window opens click browse and find your file that you saved before and double click it, then click upload and wait till you see your file then close window, your file is now uploaded.

If you want to place your screenie in a certain part of your post, place the cursor on that spot and go back to the paper clip icon and click it and the drop down menu will open and you will see your file, then click it and your done.

I forgot to add this,

While still in Paint

*****If you get a lot of white around your screen shot, click on the white area and then at the bottom right corner of the white area there is a small square, point to the square and when your pointer changes to a double ended arrow drag it to remove the excess white area from your screeny.*****

Good luck and I hope this makes things a little easier for you, with time it will become very easy.

Just give us a 'BOOM' hand replayer link. Or paste a screen shot into paint and save it as a JPG. No idea how you got them so huge :)

ok, don't want to rain on the parade but have you considered the fact that you might just be running good?

I mean, you may also be playing just fine + running good = excellent results.

2 royals in 2 days is pretty amazing and can make any player feel like they are playing awesome. I've been playing 6+ years and have NEVER had a royal. I've had 2 straight flushes in those 6 years but no royal.

this is not meant to be disparaging....running good doesn't mean playing poorly...it just means running good...

Yeah I appreciate that I'm still a noob and learning .. at the moment i'm trying to push these good runs as long as possible and minimise the damage when i run bad i guess.

thanks for the advice

Ive played many many of these, and they are not easy to play. Sounds like you are trying to make the money as the tourney progresses. While its nice to place, i think you can take advantage of building your stack with premium cards. I was told to play aggressively around the bubble with good cards as many player back off to make the $$$.

12 0f 17 cashes is really good by the way.
