Hi.
I got problem with a play in late stages of tournament (step before prize zone). About last 10 tournaments I played very good ar start - got 5+ starting stack's and good pos in tournament table but a few steps before prize zone starts I just start to lose all my stack and in most of times I got busted before I get some money.

I play the same game that I played in the start, but nothing works then. Any suggestions to overcome this problem?

I think problem with push/fold , at first rare call push villain , better to go you first open push , what get fold equity, Also play less when you in blinds , if some one open raise in middle position, better fold ( not look on pot odds )
When some one try steal u fold, be more tight , also you need more steal vs blinds..
And since you have given little information, but I think these are the main..

Have your read Harrington On Holdem vols 1 & 2. He uses a system of M&Q (google it if you don't want to invest in the books first (they're worth the investment though)). Basically it goes on about your stack size and the blind size and what plays are available to you. Obviously, you should further adapt this to what works in the current poker environment though.

Maybe you are too loose or too tight at the later stage.

You should always be aware about the bubble.

i Think I had a similar problem. Are you adjusting your game
near the bubble? Being in a game where people are loose and
then suddenly tight can throw you for a loop, expecting the
opponents to have worse cards than they really do.

this step..is the most sensitive part of any tournament, even more sensitive than the final table..If at some point you have to be careful, it is then that part of the tournament...simply be careful

Widen up your range a bit if you already ahead with that

kind of stack. You had the advantage to play some speculative and marginal

hand, you can even raise some of the hand against those limper and nit

and steal some blind.

It may be that as you get into the later stages of a tourney, the competition is getting much better because the riff raff that you have been beating like a drum in the first few levels are now gone. So maybe you need to adjust your game a little and give your table mates a little more respect as the field narrows. It is hard to give any specific advice given your lack of details in the OP. One thing I do, especially when I get put on a new table, is try to be very passive in the first few hands on a new table and see if I can get a feel for my table mates.

I think your probably playing too tight you gotta be constantly building chips to win tournamnents . Iv been a victim of folding to much and essentially folding away multi hundred dollar Atleast score. Also other times iv gotten tired or bored etc and got to aggressive
And threw away lots of chips with time and practice and studying
I have gotten a lot better at late tourney play as well as overall tourney play I have messed up seveArl times at final tables tho unfortunately :-(

I have almost the same issue. I play well in the beginning build up stacks, then I play tight aggressive in the latter stages, and it seems to me the cards don't fall for me like they did in the beginning. I try to adjust my style for each table and tournament, but I seem to min cash like crazy, and always wonder how come I see my friends always making final tables, and they get so lucky... I know it is not rigged, (Cough Cough) but it makes me wonder... Winning network is full of taking care of their own!!!

at a later emend tournament I would advise to play looser as difficult to keep the blinds playing tight as a primary and secondary stages of the tournament
