How can I play at the beginning of a tournament when you are not having hands? And this is a freeroll tournament.

fold fold and keep folding till you get top hands to double and keep doing it and don't gamble or you will be out by a donk.

If the blinds are small you can wait forever . Tight, patient play will be rewarded .When the antes kick in ( 100/200 level or above usually ) you will have to start taking some risks . Hopefully you will get a little respect 'cause your opponents have seen you waiting for quality starters !

You should start play really tight in the beginning of a tournament (no matter what freeroll or $$). Just play your premium hands as good as possible. And what I see a lot of twitch streamers doing is: Premium hand AA, KK, QQ at a hyper tournament: all-in. So they double up really soon in the beginnen of the tournament.

Just play in position, always observe the players in the table if how they play before you enter the pot..Wait for a premium hands preflop and shove..Badbeat is always part of a game as long as your ahead, your a winning player in the long run.

If we are talking about a Freeroll, I always try to grow fast at the beginning with which you triple your chips at the beginning and you can play more free and covering more cards in the pre-flop.
If you go out with the idea of always waiting for good cards in hand, to play your chips is a mistake in freerolls. Try a bluff, or try to cover your bet with more normal cards.

If you want to win in the long run, you'll have to wait for good hands or a good spot, that means, when you have like JTs and you are on the button or cutoff, or something like K9s, so you can try to make some steals on those spots. But otherwise just wait for good hands. If good hands won't come and the blinds are growing up and you see you are being eaten by them, then you can open you range gradually as your needs on the table.
Finally, if you didn't get any good hands and you are with something like 10-12BB, then i recommend you to open those push/fold charts, you can find anywhere on google, and just shove it and hope you win.
Well, this is the common strategy adopted by the TAG players, but it's rare to NEVER get a good hand when you are playing (surely sometimes you won't get anything better than QQ, but that's common) or have a good spot to steal some chips.
If you have any doubt, search for some videos of Tight Aggressive playing style and have fun.

I play too many hands preflop but i must say semi suited connectors are a big fan of my early in tournaments when the blinds are small... maybe even a small raise to mask your hand.

It can be very tempting to start playing mediocre hands when you're not getting premium hands. And yes this happens a lot more than you think. The best thing to do is wait it out and maybe see a cheap flop with suited connectors like 67 or better.

If you're not patient you end up losing your stack little by little a lot faster than if you had just waited. If you hand comes along and you have less than 10BB left well, just shove with any 2 cards and hope for the best.

I have the same problem with freerolls at beginning. I start to realized that if I play all in with a premium hand and double mi chip count, it's easier to play and catch de bubble

If you are playing a freeroll you have to play super tight in the first 3 or 4 levels until the bingo players are gone, then you can start getting in on some set mine opportunities with smaller pair and suited connectors providing you have a sufficient stack and the correct implied odds. One thing is for sure in a free roll don't ever bluff in the beginning you will almost always get called by 3 pair or worse on the river since people think they are some how pot committed. And like feeceg said learn you push fold charts for deeper in the tournament since most free rolls are turbos learning to play profitably deep in tournaments off small stacks is crucial.

You can fold a lot of bad hands in the beginning of a tournament with cheap blinds.

Sometimes you should play without good hands. Just go all in with small but perspective hands. After winning one all in game you will be free for playing and can play by your strategy

Your strategy must be tight-aggressive. If at beginning of a tournament does not get good cards for a long time, then try to enter the game with limp (but only from the late positions).

Thanks Alexandro. Probably I should wait, but I get desperate when I have no hand for long time!

Thanks Reney444 the problem it's that sometimes I don't have a good hand in the early stages of he tournament and then when the blinds get bigger I don't have enough chips to gamble, I only can do all in!

At the beginning of the tournament I try to play passively, only playing very strong hands, since a lot of players go all-in the rest in freerolls
