Ok so I was playing a 1$, $100 added tourney on betfair tonight with 139 runners. With 15 left I'm last with 2 or 3 bb's but I managed to get back in the game through a couple of flips, and persistent stealing.

So FT starts I'm doin pretty well and it gets down to four places. However one guy who was sitting out(huge early CL, must have had to go out) is still in but his stack is getting lower. I'm pretty sure he wasn't coming back.

I started on betfair with freerolls so the jumps are fairly significant considering I play 1$ sng's.

The payout structure is roughly $60 $40 $30 $20.

Im 4th when this hand comes along but I could have easily overtaken the sitout through stealing. Should I just leave it and be happy with the $30 or should I go for broke for first?

Hand Information
3000 BB (4 handed).

When in the money and guaranteed $20 you can look at the payout as $40, $20, $10 extra. Since you are still behind the sitout (after your reraise) you do need to play a hand to get 3rd place but if you fold everything you run the risk of sitout coming back or getting so shortstacked a double up won't make much difference.

The only hands you are seriously worried about are AA, AK. A smaller pair and you are a coinflip away from being the bigstack and odds on to be heads up with Hammer..., AQ,J,T etc and you are laughing.

A fair call.

Move on to the next tour, your be in the situation again.

note: If your not going to call a re-raise all-in, in that situation, then you should of smooth call and re-evaluated after flop. And if you don't like that then push first- "put your opp to the last guess"

It depends on your bankroll or your goals. If winning means more to you than the 10 bucks then go for it knowing the risks. If you are building a bankroll then I would wait and see what happens, else like the guy above me suggested i'm trying to simply steal the blinds and push everyone out or race knowing I'm likely at worst a 3/2 dog.

though looking at the hand again he's prolly calling you down on the flop, and even preflop considering 87s is one of the strongest hands against anything out there including AA. It seems he was thinking along the same lines as you were; steal the pot preflop or if not know that you aren't too bad against any random hand.

Re-raise all-in preflop.

This ^, 100%!!!!

You have a ~20bb stack... you don't want to raise pre... you want (NEED) to just put the pile in. Shove now!!!!!!

If dynamics were different (ie. stacks were deeper) I'd consider raising pre.. but seriously on a stack of this size (& from looking at stacks you've shown).. just SHOVE!!

Ideally you shouldn't be thinking about the money, but we're all human beings and that is easier said than done. You want to play your normal game when it's four-handed.

I agree with those that have said you should've gone all-in pre-flop because I would imagine that you're raise to $18000 wasn't enough. If you had put in all of your stack or around 75% (which is effectively all-in given the circumstances) then your opponent is likely going to fold.

Having said that, you got your opponent to come over the top of you and you had the best hand. You was never going to fold AK pre-flop under the circumstances so all was good until the river.
