I think we all go into some sort of pre-game warm up. Well I started this thread before to nights full flush freeroll $100. I started it by saying you need rest, well I fell a sleep (lol). Had more in it but woke to the game in play, and couldn't find it to finish it. I don't want sympathy I have MS and lost some of my vision and to chat while in play is hard for me with the tools I need use. I just want to say good game to all.
Back to pre-game warm up, rest a clear mind. How you will start the tournament like starting cards top ten or twenty pre flop. Being sober will help but not a must. Will you be aggressive and make sure change it up.
When on a rush play it out and catch as many chips as you can, and bail out before you give any back. Watch how hands are falling so you know when and who you be aggressive with.
You always are looking for playing the player not just the cards..Watching how and when you play your bluffs and try catch them in their bluffs.
When it all comes together running good and that you get the most incredible rush of all by taking it all down and you're number one.
Till we meet on the felt good games and cards to you.

The best warm up for a long tournament is a full breakfast and a strong cup of coffee :) this helps me maintain s fresh mind for few hours. One of the most costly mistake is playing poker when your body want to rest.

You don't want to warm up, it's an easy way to get bored when you're actually playing. Then you call too much.

Rawdeal, on full flush, check if you can pin the tournaments you want to play so they'll always be on top of the list and easier to find. Usually, it's a little something you click at the beginning or end of an announced turnament in the tournament list; maybe a pin or an arrow. This really helps me.

If I'm bored & tired... I only play one table. I don't need to warm up.

If I'm full of energy I start adding more & more tables till I hit that sweet spot.

I think first off no matter what you do, You need a clear mind . If meditatating is what helps then Id meditate or what ever clears your mind . Eat good food that doesnt make you tired or drowsy. Heavy food will do this so will Posta ( spaghetti ).
If you eat with in say 2 hours of the game maybe go for a walk or try some type of exercise this too may help in keeping the nerves down when the pressure is on .

taking your own advice

Taking your own advice, some times you just don't listen. I've said it before rest up clear head and play. I play pretty good in early day games but as day goes by I have a had time keeping it together. I notice this in the past couple of Cc games it was as bad could could be. We can see our weakness by the time we do more often than not it's to late. I come to the conclusion the hole in my game is me, I have take my thoughts an realize my game won't change till I do. So I'm resting up and will be looking for you tonight in ACR game tonight. Good game and good cards to you just not tonight

That is definitely what separates the gap between everything, not just poker.

Giving advice but ignoring it will be your own downfall.

Goodluck in tonights game!

I find that in general a warm up helps. Perhaps before a tourney play a couple of SnG's or before grinding play zoom or whatever its called on the site you play, only about 40 - 50 hands. (Enough to warm the brain up).

I try to make sure that I won't get any interuptions before a tourney starts, nothing worse than getting to the top 20% of a tourney about 50 from the bubble and the mother-in-law turning up.

As most people have said rest and get a drink, but I don't advise beer, but a nice pot of coffee and a danish or a sandwich. Gl in whatever you do and find what works for you, then stick to it.......................:D:D:D

I second this. This is solid advice. I get weird after Ive been grinding for a really long time and havent eaten and drank WAY more coffee than a normal person should. Rest, GOOD food and better coffee! GL

my advice adding to it

there is so many good post to my original post. I've found out playing sick not a good idea. Have had a butt kicking cold for two weeks,my play in Cc freerolls. Crushed in just a few minutes and no clue on how it went down. Feeling little better hope it goes good. Hope to see you good hands and games to you, just not tonight.:D :adore:

Usually I don't play anything at all the day of a big tournament, I don't want to start playing hands because i'm bored.
