Pretty standard, bad play here. Juts before the 25th minute, in a 7 handed game where NO AIPF's have been called down since getting 7 handed, most are raising just more than 2BB to open. Short stack (who still had some play left in the stack) wakes up in the BB with AA. Looks like he's getting no action until it gets to the SB who has j10o and a pretty short stack himself. I'm expecting to see another 2.1BB open and either a shove and a fold, or a call and eventually an easy takedown for the aa. But j10 shoves aipf. I'm like "wow" for this kinda money you just light a match to 1000s. Obviously the AA snap calls. Flop is j10 and nothing after that. AA gone in 7th place. lol. I thought I was watching ACR/WPN. Funny thing is, though, if the hand HAD played out like the previous 24 minutes, he would've limped or min raised and if he sees a flop he likely TID. tee hee good stuff!

So watch it if you'd like. There is some occasional good play, but mostly not. The end is SUPER DIRTY IMO. The dude short stacked with maybe 4m to their around 20+ asks if they can make a deal as soon as they get down to 4. Obviously, he is smart enough to know that most deals today are ICM and unless he's going to get lucky or play his butt off he's better off with a 4 way ICM chop right now. No one responds. A few hands later, he finds himself making a bad shove blind vs blind with a4o snap called by 55. He does not improve, is knocked out, and no one is really crying for him because he walks away with like 75k+. But the INSTANT he gets knocked out the remaining three all select "discuss a deal". THEN, when they're preparing to discuss the deal the b*tch who is in 1st just barely wants to see not just ICM but chip chop numbers too. We all obviously know why. She is no Debi. So the host gives the numbers and ICM is basically a wash with like say 145k to all 3 plus 20k left over to eventual winner. Chip chop is slightly more askew and would mean about, I don't know, maybe a 3-4k gap between 1st and 3rd despite being pretty much even in chips. IMNSHO, if you're going to try and b*tch/complain/fight for an extra 2% you're just being greedy. Almost immediately, the 3rd place guy, who had been the best and most consistent player at the table says "ICM only." Second place eventually says "hmmm" and after a long pause "ICM ok" and 1st place begrudgingly agrees. I'm not going to bother finish watching this session to see who takes down the 20k but I'd be rooting for them in reverse order of the current standings.

I don't have access to this site, so I don't know how much would have been available for 1st if played out (and therefore "graciously" given up by 1st place) or how much the entry fee was. But I would assume there were tons and tons of sattys and super sattys but even with a full entry paid, I'd say 145k in an online tourney split 3 ways to each is a pretty good day.

effectively stacks are really short, so as a long term play his jam is actually not that bad, not something i would personally do, however the sheer amount of folds he would generate it would easily show profit over the long term. adjusted for antes his stack is right around the 10bb mark...

However since it's a sunday million final table, it's not something that most people would think of as a long term thing, so i'd disregard effective or adjusted BB stack sizes and make plays like limping or opening small as an alternative. but as a general play, long term, it's totally profitable and fine, but in this spot it might not be the most profitable or most common sense play there is that's for sure!

Yeah, for sure! And not to be outcome-based, even if he hits the ace and doubles up I still don't like it. If the 55 found a fold, I still wouldn't like it. He must have assumed that there was no shot the other 3 would give him ICM. Nothing else makes sense to me.

But, whatever, that one performance puts him about 80k better than my online performance this year.

This one is awesome! They get down to three, pause for a deal and then can't agree. 1st wants chip chop and 3rd wants icm so apparently they will play on!
