I think that a small stakes TAG (Tight Aggresive) is still the best strategy

I tend to try to get just enough to survive a few rounds of blinds and wait for that monster hand to profit off of. No use risking chips on stupid hands. Tournaments is a survival game. Unless your playing bounty, then its a deathmatch :D

I have to be honest - it depends on the payouts and blind structure.

If there is just not much to win unless you win it all, I might get risky early and play very aggressive. Nothing worse than playing 3 hours for nothing at all. So, especially if not at least 12 minute blind levels.

If 12 or better blinds (deepstack @ 20 minutes would be great, but they are not cheap MTTs usually) I play L or T-AG.

Yet, with any game, I try to shift gears and stay unpredictable at all times. I also try to avoid betting tells. When they have no idea if your 3x raise is garbage or AA, this has it's benefits. I also use bluffing as a specialized tool, not an overall strategy. I would rather induce or catch someone's bluff than bluff just for the sake of bluffing.

And then I sit down and all the above often goes straight to hell, lol.

If I play poker, if there are small blinds I often play every playable hand :) of course if there are very big blinds I only play pairs better than 9s.

Tight is right, as they say!
I fear the tightness inside me sometimes, I play too tight! :D:D
So I've started to play some 0.02$ 990 S&G which are Hyper.. I'm trying to cure my tightness with some fun :p

I like seeing cheap flops and betting on turn and river. I don't like preflop shoving situations, you don't last too long.

I am playing tight aggressive for now in MTT's. I find myself at 10bb after about an hour and a half to two hours into the tourney if there is no luck with cards. I hate having to shove to survive.

Stop playing MTTs then. The shovefest portion is completely and utterly unavoidable.

I don't invest in MTTs. Freeroll tourneys have me playing them. I mean you can't say no to free:D. Looking into stepping my game up.

Honestly I think most freerolls are shove/fold from the beginning. :p Like, if you're not willing to get all in you're ****ed because the hand is, 90% of the time, getting in anyway.

And also stacks are too short to speculate at any point. Limping in with like A2s is a waste of time.

I try to play top 15% range. Usually i'm more passive than aggresive player. Sometimes for example I can fold AQs on the bubble (today I had this hand on the bubble). So it seems that I'm passive player.
