Let's say you want to go to a tournament series, like a wsop circuit event or EPT or any of the regional tours: how do you chose your schedule (i.e. what events you play)? Also, how do you chose which series you go to?

Obviously, some choices are dictated by time and money - i.e. a player with a building bankroll isn't going to play a high roller and a non-pro from Arkansas isn't flying to Australia. But when you have options between events of similar buyins and tournament series of similar stature, how do you chose?

I suppose also I extend this question to online series like WCOOP and SCOOP too.

It is usually very easy. I only play nlhe and like deep stacks - so I pick the games that I think I will enjoy and potentially do well in.

You just need to know how much you want to spend and account for any potential re-entries - and with all of those things mentioned the schedule works itself out.

I wanted to keep this package I am doing this week at PH smaller - so I am only playing one $580 event - on the days of the other 2 I am playing the $125 Aria tournies.

I also rarely play satellites - so that makes my schedule easier too.

It all depends on bankroll management and location. If location is a problem and you want to overcome it you can play some online satelites that offer packages that include the buy in for the event , the hotel , and some money for other expenses that can cover the cost of a cheap flight. If you are not bankrolled for an event that you really want to play, you could sell some pecentage (staking).

There are a lot of things to consider when making those decisions.
First of all, there are certain location I prefer to play, and other locations I really don't like. So, if all things are equal, I would choose my favorite location.
Other than that, pick games that fit your playing style, bankroll allowance, and take into account any time restrains you may have.

Best if Luck!
