Okay so am I just a total idiot in this situation? Basically I start with 3600 chips in a middle position, pocket queens, there are two lispers and I raise 5bb. I get re-raised by the player next to me (he has ~2x my stack), and its folded back down to me, I shove and get instacalled. I say "You have pockets?" and someone else says "Of course you both do", and he shows pocket Kings. I miss and get knocked out, though I had a rebuy I chose not to use it so I ended the night early.

How could I have played better? Flat call? Or just fold to the re-raise?

I guess it's hard to say whether just a flat call or to fold to the reraise pocket Queens is a very good hand I would raise preflop in almost every instance now when you get rear aced is the hard part is this a one table game or a multi-table game have you been sitting with this person for a while and watching how he's playing or did he just sit down next to you is it a cash game or a freeroll all things to consider on making your decision in any case I would like to see a flop without being all in and would check to the other player to see what they did after flop now if they go all in after I check I'd have to lay down my Queens if I didn't set up but there are different things that make every situation different

In the middle position it was to big raise for QQ - 3x max. here. QQ is very deceptive hand. After reraise of your oppnent you had to fold it. I agree, with 5x raise and pocket pair of queens its unlikely but still it was necessary.

Just reraise is a very tough option and not always correct, but in most cases the only correct option in this situation !!!:)

Totally flat or another raise. Also depends on stack size and level. I don't care for the shove pre-flop. Always try to get to the flop. Too many people try to just shove their way to the money instead of playing.

At early stage i wouldn't risk the whole stack, except i had KK or AA, then it worth to stack in, but QQ even against AK it's just a coin flip. And you will meet them too often. Well KK was even worth tho.. But why putting yourself on a dice if there are still so many hands and opportunities? Especially against bigger stack.
In that situation i would call and see what comes on board and how your opponent act. But controlling the pot.

2 bb raise or call, select to slow play or re-raise depend on flop and players numbers. if your opponent re-raise or all-in after you, fold.
QQ is a good hand, but not a good choice to all-in pre-flop.

I would flat call there being he has me covered 2/1 unless I have a good read on him being fishy. If the flop comes up dry for me and him continues aggression I muck. This same situation late in a tourney I might play it more aggressively

Sounds like Kings snuck up on you. QQ is a hand in early game you want to call with and evaluate it post flop along with JJ and TT. Also, no need to spazz jam early position. QQ is a good 3 bet hand in late position but if you get 4 bet or jammed on, it's a fold (in a vacuum) with no information.

You can still be aggro in early position but like one of the posters said, you want to air on the cautious side, especially if it is a rebuy or re entry tournament. Even AA should be careful.

Always always remember, you don't have the nuts until the river. There is a way that 32o can be the nuts in situations and you can't figure that out until you go post with the folks.

Chow!!

"Queens never wins" i think you could fold because of early stage of tournament, additionally you get re-raised by higher stack.
