Okay:

You've travelled 5,000 miles, and you're in your very first tourney.

On your very first hand, you're dealt pocket aces.

You're the first to act.

What do you do?

Depends which position I am.

If in EP - I raise 3-4BB.
If MP, BTN, CO and someone raised before me - I 3 bet.
If in blinds, I 3bet as well. To how much, this depends on the action before.

I know there will be some guys who go all in. Since I had a bad streak with all ins lately, I'm not so much of a fan anymore..

It’s pretty easy when you have AA, no matter is it first or hundred and first hand. Raise, 3bet, 4bet, all in, it all depends what kind of action you have on the table

I will act according to the classical strategy. I bet 4bb and then I make a call on the flop for verification. I will look at the reaction of the players who entered the game and I will act according to the circumstances. Of course, it depends a lot on what tables you play and the importance of the game.

The hand will pretty much play itself. EP I raise 3.5, MP I raise 3, LP I raise 2.5 and hope to get 3 Bet. No matter what, I will be aggressive to get to the flop heads up or all in preflop. If I can afford to fly 5,000 miles and buy-in to this particular tourney, I could afford to play this hand aggressively. And, by chance I get knocked out, I would spend some time taking in the sights for the next day or so, maybe play some cash games, then go back home with a smile on my face. After all, sounds like a very good problem to have.

Defend them at the beginning of the hand, then bet acording to the flop, I usually bet hard on turn, if they pay, turn on the alarms and analize the hand!

Who are you asking? If you want advice from newcomers like you, they will not teach you anything. If you turn to experts, then for them you are a fish that needs to be eaten. They will not feed you, so that you grow up and begin to swallow them. One hope remains for the Lord, who does not welcome gambling. So you have to pay for science!

This was a question that was asked of Howard Lederer a number of years ago, and I was curious as to what the answers would be.

Lederer's answer was that it's a long way to go, to play just one hand.

Open like 2.5 bb's . If I get 3 bet then 4 bet and hope they make a big move. No matter what stage of the tourney I'm looking to isolate and get max value Pre Flop with Aces.

This was a question posed to Howard Lederer a number of years ago.

His response was that it was a long way to go, to play just one hand.

Thought that was an interesting answer, and it has always stuck with me. I was wondering what other players' response would be.

Thanks, everybody who replied.
