Thanks! I'm feeling a lot better already I'm new to the area and casino but have won a significant amount in cash games there the past couple nights which has helped a ton also. Much appreciated!
Show up early and scope out the physical environment. If you are in a really cold seat or a really hot seat, dress accordingly (and have whatever clothing it takes to deal with either on hand). Make sure you know the tournament rules and the house rules. House rules are probably the same as for cash, so you already have that. Strike up a conversation with someone at the tournament desk, or a tourney official and ask about specific rules. For a WPT event, you will probably have a Big Blind ante, and all
hands show at showdown. Verify this. Make sure to know when BB ante starts - I think it was second hand the last time I played (at a completely different venue).
In other words, get comfortable. It's going to (hopefully) be a long day. Don't get taken by surprise by something you could have seen coming.
Edit: just noticed that this thread is three years old. How'd you do Buff? The advice still applies.
