When in a MTT, and for the most part, you are card dead, and you have aggression to your left and sometimes to your right, what is the best way to play. It is not just waiting for premiere hands, it is in general that when the cards are not in your hand pre-flop, what is the best way to go about playing some of those hands to widen your starting range.

What is your image at the table? If it is tight, you can pull off a bluff or two.

If it is early in the MTT then I wouldn't change much except an occasional steal attempt in late position.

Later in the MTT that question is just too difficult for me to answer in a general way. There are too many factors that would come into play for me - blind levels, my chip stack, chip stacks of others on the table, who is in the hand, my reads on every player - could go on forever.

The best I can do is say I would be looking for a perfect spot to get in a hand with the aggressive players. If your image is tight because you have been card dead sometimes that can play in your favor under these conditions. You can 3-bet, 4-bet and they are convinced you have AA or KK. Just be reasonably confident that you are ahead if you are prepared to go all the way with whatever you have. And know when to give it up if you are not.

It depends on your post flop skills.

I would consider myself tight/aggressive (aggressive in the way that when I am in a hand and I will bet aggressively to take down the pot whether I have the cards post flop or not.
I do have patience early in a tournament, and as the blinds go up that is where I know I need to change my game up

Are you folding too much in position with with speculative hands when faced with a min-raise?

I had posted a similar question to yours on CC awhile back, and realized that I was folding too many speculative hands in position.
Folding in those spots will make it seem like your card dead, in poker, the cards are as alive as YOU make them.

Look for a betting pattern in aggressors bet, most have a pattern unless you're up against a maniac.

Patience is synonymous with victory, no matter where the right or left aggression comes or if your hand is dead, a good hand will put your attacks to your advantage and put the pressure on your ri

As for me, I have folded folded and folded some more for the first hour of a MTT, except for the few I can steal the blinds with, then of a sudden the cards start coming. You will be way behind the other players, but you are still in the game, and you have a chance, but if you were trying to play hands that should not be in the pot with, you probably would be out on the rail. GL to you

To add to my post. As I refer my self as right aggressive, I don't just wait for premium hands. I play according to the players in the hand and my cards.

Playing some of the lower tier cards can be tough. In my opinion, the best way to play these hands and get away with it is in late positions.

Patience

I found myself card dead and starting to get low not short stacked yet but low today. I kept my patience till down to about 12 BB before the cards started coming again. I estimate I was an hour in a snap tourney with out a playable hand. I didn't wait for premium just something playable in the position I was in that hand. I ended up finishing 5th in the tourney for a good cash. Just wait they will come. if you get down to 10 or 15 blinds you may have to play less than ideal hand for the spot your in but I find I wait as long as possible to get best results
