Hey all kinda new here. Hoping yall could give me some advice or point me to the right thread. Oftentimes Ill find myself in the last couple of players (say 30 out of 500) but at that point I find myself out of my depths. It feels like playing a completely different game. The high blinds and big bets really throw me off. Does anybody have any advice they can relay from experience playing on the bubble? Mostly looking for responses from players with experience not so much bubble theory. Thanks in advance!

Better player preassures much on the bubble because he is not afraid of the lose and he wants more chips from people who just wait for cash.

I would play aggressively in a free roll. It's a free roll.

Playing freerolls don't call all-in for the first 2minutes, except you have two aces, it can make you richer. I support PokerGrinder, it's really better to play aggressively, even if you're so newbie as I am))

If you are in bubble , then only final table is worth time, so aggresive play for sure, final table or nothing.

In freerolls, You should play more aggressively on the bubble. Your opponents are usually passive, because they want to get to the cash register. If you bust out before the cash, you do not lose.

aggressive play but not with all kinds of hands even a free since the end those who desire getting in the money would earn little if a bubble for aggressive final table with any significant hand and from position

I agree with other that you must play more aggressive on the bubble, because after the bubble(first prize place) very little money-it gives nothing to your bankroll building-doesn't afraid anything you must steal blinds of those who is afraid set out on the bubble)))

The best in the bubble is pressing, especially if you have a large and healthy stack, a lot of people will be looking for the ITM, then this is the time to accumulate more chips, after all what matters is to reach the final table and win the tournament.

I agree with the advice above. Late stage tourneys are a different beast. People are betting big or getting out of the way.

I find most players bet into the table hard with any 2 cards T or better, pocket pairs, and any A. In my opinion, do the same. If you find yourself with a decent holding go for broke.... It will pay off. Otherwise the blinds/ante will eat you alive.

here is good starting point:
https://www.cardschat.com/poker-strategy.php

Read and enjoy and leanr something new.

My advice if you built your stack, then hit it and bet it right before the bubble, since almost everyone will start tightening up and save their chips, you can take advantage of them and steal their blinds....

Sounds to me you are shutting to gain deeper into the tourney .
Because of this you are almost always short stacked coming into the blind.

Ask yourself a couple Questions :
Did I shut down and not play.
Am I not playing against the weak players when I should and take advantage of their weak tendencies .
Did Lose the table reputation I had gained up to that point
(table dynamics in your favor)
ETC................

Try evaluating your play and your table image in them later areas and see if you can adjust to help you get past the bubble.

Be Brave But Not Foolish

One thing I have found with tournies is most players think the same.
If you are nearing the end of a tourney and the paid places, nobody wants to go out, so you can be a bit more aggressive hands permitting, but its not a time to get gun ho. Like i said you still need the hands but dont be scared of shoving a big raise as majority of the time they are chip stealing.

Nearing the bubble in a freeroll, one needs enough chips to stay out of the way for a while.

In the bubble you should play more agressive, some of the other players will play passive and you can steal blinds

I've been wanting to hear what experienced players have to say on this subject as well. Thanks for making this thread. I have been shutting down to make it to the cash and I really get burned up watching someone with a huge stack stealing all the blinds. I guess I should be the one with the huge stack who is stealing the blinds.

When I play if I get near to the end where you could win money then I would play the same way that I started to play the tourney from the start.I normally play lose. But lately I have proven my game a little.I just spent over two hours in a 10 dollar free roll and finished 8 so I won 50 cents. To me the people that play aggressive in the free roll are the one's that will get knocked out of the tourney first unless they get lucky and hit.

Decide what you want to win. If you want to make the money, tighten up and play the nuts. Avoid 'confrontation'. If you want to win the tourny, take calculated risks.

Personally, anything is a positive in a free roll, so i shoot for min cashing, then re-evaluate my situation.

Yes, but sometimes you would hurt fell down if you were raiser and someone got NUTS and bit your 3\4 stack. With this strategy you need be more carefully.
I prefer play more agressive if I with the middle stack. If I am chip leader I prefer play more tight and make a situation 1 on 1 with opponent.
