I've been running into this quite frequently HU in turbo games. These players that have over 15bb's but they open shove every other hand and a lot of the times I'll call off bad with any A. How do I play against these players, should I just fold weak A's when they shove, and instead of raising the btn/sb should I just open shove instead to prevent the 3bet shove?

Im not an expert but usually when I run into this, I begin to start shoving as well if I know the other player will fold a lot of hands. And usually its when the other player will shove 80% if i call or raise from the sb. I dont think you should call with any A, but I would shove any A plus a lot of suited connectors. If your opponent is going to shove when you call or raise, you would rather just shove a suited connector but thats just me.

On whether you should call with an Ace... if their shoving range is ridiculously wide (like 50%+), and you're really deepstacked on them (meaning you could call 5+ of their shoves), I would say go for it. A2s has +EV against something like 70% of hands, and A2o has +EV against 45% of hands. And in HU your range should include -EV hands because you're blinded every time so it's just not profitable to wait for a winning hand -- you'll get blinded out for whatever you win and then some.

He wasn't shoving every single hand, I imagine he was folding most of his rags like 93o etc. But it was over 50% probably closer to 75% counting the reshoves on my steals. I guess it was entirely possible to be on a huge heater but I really didn't get any hands that play well vs a shove.
HU we started 18k to 8k blinds 300/600 but this strategy allowed him to chip up where we were virtually even when I finally got a hand decent enough to call and I was behind.

Being aggressive in HU is the only way.And I think in turbo games shoving seems to be the preffered option in most situations.
