Please for the love of god if you do this stop. It scares the fish. Stop berating them for bad plays. I swear every tournament I play in someone inevitably starts in on another player, calling him names saying that he was " retarded for calling an all in shove from the chip leader who hasn't played in two hours and then you called with 45s " ....why? why do you do this? It just tells me that your a fish too.

Let them keep making those mistakes why do want them not to make them anymore? It hurts all of us good players when you try to " rudely point out a mistake the fish made " strategically, financially and overall it brings us all down. Have some class or at least some respect for the game.

Just tonight I was in a MTT on the button and raised for a steal with J9 suited and was called by the big blind and the flop came 10-8-7rainbow. I bet 2/3rds the BB reraised me I shoved he called with pocket 10s and I won. Then this other player for no apparent reason said we were " pathetic and horrible for playing the hand that way ( and other bad words he cared to share) "

Even if we played the hand wrong, which we didn't, why are you telling us? If we did it wrong what do think that is going to accomplish? Be a better player then that, not just for you but for all us and poker itself...

No matter what...people will continue doing this.
So while you can't stop it, try to benefit from it, as it gives you some information every now and than.

At all cost....don't let it affect you in a bad way.
I mean, if you're getting annoyed by it, turn of chat.

It's stressful getting knocked out of a tournament or 4 in one day when these retarded players keep spiking 3 outers

That's very true, but you will win those more often then not if your situation was plus ev. I think ev should stand for eventually...

There is a fine line, but for the most part the normal trash talk online isn't scaring anyone away anymore as it's an accepted part of the game and many people- including myself- find it amusing.

That's my perspective; you're more than entitled to your own, but if someone is so easily scared away the chances of them being a repeat/habitual depositor is microscopic anyway.

There are limits however.

Seems like the comments might have done the commenter some good. You were disturbed and probably weren't on your best game after that.

Smart, serious and well-adjusted poker players are perfectly content when they discover that they are the best player in the room. Douchebag poker players aren't happy until EVERYONE in the room knows that they discovered they are best player in the room. Unfortunately, poker is not immune to the failings of the human character and that is magnified by the fact that they are online and have no fear of being beaten to a pulp for being a jackass.

I agree OP, glad you brought it up... I've taken the opposite approach, if villain gets a suck-out with a BS hand I'll say NH to encourage this behavior in the future! ;)
