Online Poker Decision Making at the table

Why so long to make a decision at the table? Use the extra time to the last second. Is it so difficult to respect the other players? What took you so long presses or any сall of fold. I dont undarstand that.my opinion It's silly.

Well not every situation is the same. And it has nothing to do with respect in my opinion. It is part of the game and can have multiple reasons. Players could be playing multiple tables, timebanking because of the bubble or the next payjump in a tourney, checking the villians stats, trying to disguise theire hand because they are holding the nuts, or simply think the hand trough.

Why not taking more time to think?
Poker is a game about making the right decision in the right moment to make the most money. Wich means if I need time to make the correct play I will take my time. Playing on autopilot might be ok most of the time, but there is situations were you need that time.
You would be suprised how easy it is to narrow down a hand from a certain range of hands the villian could hold if you had unlimited time to think about it.

Now if you mean "slowrolling", i am fully on your side, that is just disrespectfull. But in every other situation I must disagree with you.

Do you know what slowrolling means?

Slowrolling is delaying showing the winning hand at showdown. For instance, heads-up on the river you move all-in and your opponent time banks all the way down and then calls with the nuts. You're talking about playing slowly.

I think he means time-banking,,,,and yes,there are players that do it in the CC freerolls,annoying? Yes,but,the players here have earned the right to play any way they want,,,,don`t like it? Too bad,,,,so sad. :wavey: I can think of a few things better to do than time-bank for 3 hrs for 75ct,,,,,but that`s just me,,,,:dancing:

sometimes the player is playing at many different tables, the game does not know the starting hands ranger or has no pre-defined ranger, may have reasoning a little slow or does many calculations ..... are many factors or even you provoke .... but one thing I've been learning about poker is that it's a game of patience

Sometimes I use it in front of a bubble. There's nothing wrong with that. Wait out the bubble and then play your game again. Many people use it. You have to be patient and not get annoyed.

When the CC tournament begins, you will have a late night. Need to sleep. Therefore, you are nervous that the game lasts a long time. Just do not play CC tournaments. Health is more expensive than money

You only need to understand that anyone can play however they want, there is no rule that they should play the way you like.

Yes, I know what slowrolling. I'm only interested in the reasons for this action online game. Because I mostly play in live and see it for a live table it makes sense. Thank you all for your answers

time in the tournament it's a private matter, someone can play ten tables and it is his right, plus on the bubble all the short stacks are taking their time.

I guess people try to make themselfs feel better. They got frustrated and now they feel the need to do that. Even live i dont like it. In a homegame thats a different story, but any situation were you play vs unkwon players is just a bad attitude.

Any player is permitted to take as long as they want. poker sites have time limits that I find fair and reasonable.

Got to remember that most of the times players are multitasking. They maybe have other tournies and cash games up. They may have distraction in real life like pet a person. Sometimes players connection to client is bad. Or sometimes they loose track of tourney like if they watching a movie or reading a book, tournies are sometimes tedious need sometime else to pass the time.
Some players just take time to think decisions through which is recommended for beginners. The advanced poker players take time to make decisions also. Not all information on a HUD is readily available on client screen

Also, look at it like this! When you play live a person can take an indefinite amount of time to make a decision where as in online poker, there's only so long a person can wait!! The only annoying THING here is that there is also a definite amount of time that a player is allowed to wait on EACH hand & I've faced players who milk the clock down to the last second EVERY TIME EACH HAND, so I definitely feel your pain & only hope that frequent abusers are caught in the future as it's possibly to track this, only if enough players speak out about this to the respective sites.

Poker is a psychological game and if this affects you, it might be your tilt trigger. I have done it before and made my opponent believe that I was afraid to make a call. I had AA. next thing I see he brings all in when I had set made hand with 3 aces. I believe nothing is by chance. everyone makes their own strategy.

I think most of the ppl are yousing theyer last seconds in the game when they are next to bubble. In the bubble it simple 1 hand a time but before you can delay 3-4 hands maybe a bb or sb. It all about getting into the money.

I always have a difficult time making the decision to play the game at all ! I seem to run bad more than good so I just sit out and sulk at my decision not to play at all! :stoned::icon_pale:icon_sile

On line you should also take a few secunds in an importan hand, you must analyze the whole play, pre flop, post flop, the type of villain, if he is an aggressive player, passive, maniac, etc.You must take the time to analyze, what happens if you bet, and if the villain pays, what will you do on the turn or river, etc.

When I play poker I'm not going anywhere so when players take longer time....i am OK with it. You might be tilting if you are not cool with it.

bro its usually because players like me are not playing just 1 table, im playiong 12 tables at grind at same time and its hard to act in first second

Personally I play quickly . I feel the more hands you see the better your chances are . But these slow players are playing by the rules of the game . If I let it bother me I would probably start playing tubos wher the time aloud is less .
