Hello everybody, I've been playing poker since I was 15... now I'm about to finish highschool and give poker a shot. My starting bankrol is 3k $ and I am very confused where to play. First of all in my city there are very few players who play live cash at the casino .. therefore in order to play live cash I have to change the city and begin to pay my maintenance. On the other side, another option would be online MTT's on 888 because I'm banned from pokerstars...The problem with MTT's is the big variance that is waiting for me but there are many regulars and experienced players at live cash game.. I'm very confused please help me to come to a decision idk which way to go.. live cash or online mtt's ?

Imho BCP MTTs are more preferable. Not long ago there was a great series of freebuy tourneys.

Go to college instead, or go to a trade school. Find a significant other that will talk you out of your ambitions. If all else fails, put it on black and hope for the best.

Live cash is much more profitable than playing online. Online players are just getting better and better now, but the majority of live players are still awful. I play 2-5 live for a living and the best way to beat full ring games with bad players is to just play a solid TAG game and try not to bluff too much because you will just get called down by bad players way too often. Play very few hands, but win most of the hands you play by playing aggressively post-flop. Always get 3 streets of value with your good hands. Live players generally don't ever fold, esp in small stakes cash.

Agree ^... Stay away from the bluffing unless you have very well hid suckouts and trying 2 bet for value if it hits.. Most live players are horrible, but the same could be said for some of the online players on most US available sites.. I would play cash and stick within brm and if you have any skill at all + avoid tilting into the darkness realm you should be able to make solid profits.. Good luck with your aspirations!

Live cash games. Online MTTs you'll have to multi table, the variance is insane, and swings can get pretty big. Even at micro/low stakes, online MTTs have decent competition.

Live cash games are more fish infested, lower variance, and more profitable than MTTs in the long run. You can just play a very straightforward game in low stakes live cash games and still be profitable in them.

With only $3k you are going to struggle to make a living off poker, especially if you have to pay rent and bills from said $3k. If you have just a 10 buyin downswing (which is not uncommon) at the lowest live stakes your bankroll will be gone and you will have no money left to live off... You are better off getting a job to support your poker career until you have a much bigger bankroll and can comfortably live off the winnings.
