okay doke. where to start, where to start. right, i think this advice will be decent for you, i will try my best to help you to improve. i started playing poker 1 year ago, didn't have A CLUE how to play the game. these were home games, just to basically learn the rules etc. then i went on to the casino, and after a couple of rubbishy online sites i joined pokerstars
. at first i played tourny's and was terrible- couldn't get anywhere near cashing. however, in the last 8 months i have been practicing and grinding my arse off. playing close to 3,000 tourny's. on Friday night i was out at a friends, we were playing poker. i lost. i was losing both online and live as i was on a downswing. on Saturday morning i woke up at 7 for some reason after drinking the night before and being up until like 3. i signed up for tourny's straight away. kind of started to go deep in the Saturday micro and the Big $5.50, until it was just the 5.50 left over. i had came close to getting a good cash but had prior failed to. ended up finishing 6th for $1k odd, my biggest cash by far so far. so after going out for a few to celebrate i am feeling pretty good. anyway, basically the morale of the story is that you have to work hard to get good results. grind every day you can. watch videos. watch the pros in action. everything. until you feel good about your game. start off at the low stakes and build confidence by WINNING tourny's. then you have the ability to take down a big event. i have not read any books tbf, if you watch enough content i dunnoo if you need to tbf. keep improving man, i have come a decent way but still far off being great.
at first your roi will be really bad, once you start to improve it will increase too. be confident. prepare for the downswings but also know, you will bink a big score soon and rake it in. gl!
overall advice- play as many tournys as you can.
