Hi! I would appreciate a definitive answer on this one.

We were playing Texas Hold'em no limit tournament style last night at a friend's house and this problem came up.

QUESTION: If I fold Preflop, is it ok for another player (Who Folded As Well) to view my folded cards?

In my opinion that gives him insight into my betting patterns and I do not wish that other player to see the cards that I fold pre flop even if he folded pre flop as well.

Is there a rule for this one?

Thanks!

I mean, you can play poker with whatever rules you want as long as evryone agrees before the game.

normally, and as far as i know, in every variant of poker ever played, the opponnent is not allowed to see what cards you folded ever

If he touched folded cards in a game I play in without permission he would get punched in the face. It is not okay. Of course as stated above you can agree on any rules but in normal situations no way.

Not okay, if this is just a fun game then you can let them do that but if you want to win some money make sure the table is following the rules. I will not allow anybody to sift through my mucked hands with money on the table.

Yes, there is a rule. Once you fold, your cards are mucked. If you do show, you have to show everyone. If it was a casino game, your cards would be automatically mucked, and if you showed another player before mucking - and trying to show just that one player - , you would be reprimanded by the dealer, as well as having to show the entire table. Doing this repeatedly (trying to show one player only) would have you at least reprimanded if not eventually ejected from the game.

In a home game, if another player tries to look at your cards without asking you after you fold, your options are many. Punching him in the face would be extreme, but an option. Seriously tho, this is extremely bad etiquette if someone looks at another's folded cards. If it happens more than once, it is a reason to never invite that player back. (Unless he/she is a valid ATM)

But the show one - show all rule will (should) always apply.

In our home games other players who fold often show their hands after the hand is over. I tend not to do this so other players cant get free information so it kinda pisses me off if I fold and somebody picks up my cards. Got into a real bad argument over this and it almost got ugly.
Its all fun and games until somebody looks at my cards without my consent

no there is no rule like that, except there is a agreement among the player.

You look up TDA rules here:
http://www.pokertda.com/poker-tda-rules/

In a home game it really depends on the "home rules" and what you agree on. The good thing about home games is it can be an ongoing "adjustment" to the play and rules. If something comes up in a hand then you can and should discuss it right then and there and make an agreement. 99% of the time I don't show any cards in a casino. In a home game I might not mind though. Especially if its friends I trust or have known a long time. Your friend may think your making mistakes and wants to confirm it. Maybe your friend thinks your a good player and wants to copy your style or just learn from you. Your usually in a very relaxed and laid back environment. Now is the time to try out new tactics or strategies. I'm never overly concerned with playing "correctly" at home games. I'm there to have a good time with my friends.

Hi Walt

No it is not ok for anyone to look at mucked cards, and if it did happened the dealer had to show cards to everyone
