This is a discussion on ODDS within the online poker forums, in the Tournament Poker section; Guys, tell me, is it worth it to study mathematical odds or is it pointless?
And how often do you use these skills?
What do you mean by studying mathematical odds, take a college or just about poker odds?
I mean, if you're talking about odds in poker. You at least should know what odds is, and understand basic concept of it. For more clarity, you can go to https://www.cardschat.com/odds-for-dummies.php . Read everything and decide youself, is it worth it?
For me, it's one of many tools in poker decision making.

re: Poker & ODDS
You should definitely have a basic understanding of the number of outs you have and the percentage chance that turns out to be when calling/raising with drawing ends, ie trying to hit a straight/flush/etc. You can certainly delve further into implied odds but the basics in an absolute must.
