Looking forward to a really good month, even more for the FTOPS in NOV, can't wait!!

Most likely playing the rush mtts in the FTOPS. I believe they are the 109$ rebuy rush and the 216$ turbo rush.

Enough about November, this is October! Good luck to everyone!

Well, since stars withdrew from Wa state and Dakota was kind enought to transfer my stars roll to Full Tilt, I will be playing my tournies there from here on out.

Started the month out with a 7th place in the Daily Dollar yesterday. Good start and a nice boost to the roll.

I fully expect that I will have another final table this month. :)

Well Tuesday night I finished 10th in the $25k $5.50 2R/1A - sooooooo close to awesomeness lol.

I did get my final table last night - but it is not much of a brag lol.

Twice recently when registering late for a tournament I have accidentally registered for the wrong one - since the tournaments are constantly moving in the lobby. And of course I am stuck in them since it is late registration.

The first time was terrible - it was an $82 PLO tournie that started with only 1000 chips. I lasted about 8 minutes. :(

I was luckier last night - it was a $2.20 mixed holdem tournament. I have no clue how to play limit and still finished 2nd lol. Let me add that hu limit is a form of torture that should be illegal.

A tourney can be anywhere from 12 - 50+ players depending on where it is played . They are mostly limping in at the start of each tourney, then at the final table it just becomes a shovefest.

I received an monthly e-mail newsletter that said a $1000 wsop buy in would be awarded this month , so I decided to give it a try.

So far this week I have won twice and came in second for a total of $50 in bar tabs.

According to Tuesday's update I am 5th out of 441, and I haven't been playing online as much as I usually do.

It is so awesome! The best spent 3000 fpp's ever. It is soooo easy to cash and the minimum payout is $79. I have cashed in it every time I have played in it.

If you cash twice consecutively you get a $100 bonus that is very easy to earn - you get either 60 or 90 days to earn it.

If you cash 3 times consecutively you get a $200 bonus to earn. I will be going for #3 this month. So even a min cash means $279 to me.

Special thanks to KC for posting his rush strategy. I used a modified version of it in this tournament and it worked pretty well. As I'm finding with all MTT's, I'm beating myself up over the decision; this one was to call a reraise all in with AJ (opponent had AK) I put him on a med PP and was okay with a race. I never quite recovered and ultimately went out when my pocket 9's hit pocket Jacks. I feel like its a matter of time before I win won of these....especially if I read KC's strategies between each break like I did tonight :D

This is more of a strategy question but what do you do in the middle stages when you have an absolute maniac to your left? I literally couldn't try to steal because this guy was calling everything; to illustrate, he donked off 13K chips in an hour, including calling an all in with Q8off. Ultimately, I got short stacked and got bad beat on my aces....but I suspect this would happen again so any tips would be appreciated.

If the maniac is to the left I would probably tighten up, and let him double me up.
Just be patient, variance will catch up with him soon enough.

Word of warning though, there are some LAG maniacs that are really good.

Sigh...was having another good run when I ran into an innocent looking flop with my Jacks that ended up with the Villan having a set of 4's. Is it always so frustrating when you think you're playing well in one of these and one big pot against you and all you're work goes POOF!

Kind of +1 to this advice. I wouldn't say you need to tighten-up precisely, you just need to change your objectives. With superLAG on your left you don't go for steals so much anymore, you go for value. But you widen your value range somewhat. If he's showing he'll call with things as bad as Q8o, then just about any A is value against his range (and in the right position will grab dead money from blinds as well).

It's going to be a higher variance spot, there's nothing you can do about that. Either let him run over you the entire time (def. -EV) or open up your value range and get a piece of that donk's chips for yourself.

edit: anyone have experience with the 'stars weekly 1/4 million? I'm tempted to give it a shot for funsies, but I want to know what kind of time investment should be expected if I plan on doing well.
