I try to take really good detailed notes on my opponents as i watch them play whether i am in hand or not. I am trying to come up with a better color coding system/abv to make this a quicker more streamlined process. Does anyone have any ideas they want to share or want to share their own system for note taking on opponents.

I usually use three colors. Dangerous enemies, fish and bluff

I don't have a well thought out colour coding system. I always read the notes before I have to make a move against someone.

I only take extensive notes on really good players. Other less detailed notes consist of usually one or two hands played certain ways from average players or obvious timing or betting tells I noticed previously or a note such as totally incompetent on a totally incompetent player.

The more information the better. I distribute the players in 8 colors and on each player write down any interesting notes. Some players have a 9 and more notes. We are talking about the size of the raise, ranges of hands, which hands bluffing, which uses as a bluff catcher, etc.

I also use three colors system. There is no time enough to take notes but coloring is easy and quick way to mark my opponents as fishes or really good players.

I use red for those in Big stack category, Blue for suspicious Bluffers and ligth green for fish or very conservative players. }
I keep evaluating the players and they can change color depending on the developments. :deal:

All great info, thank you all for sharing. What about abreviations for certain players or for labels?

well today I'm using just 2 colors, Blue for CC members and red for good players.. Ppl that does 2 or 3 really good moves on my table are eligible to that rank.

colors:
1-fish
2-fish tendend
3-few good plays
4-danger
5-passive

As notes go: I'm pretty sure basic VPIP/PRFR stats can give you an idea of how your op plays post flop, so I usually write down what hands they raise/shove + (rarely) if I see some tricky plays with bad/good hands.
