Hey guys, just signed up and I'll start with a quick question. How long should it take an amateur to final table a 600-1000 player tourney? I've played the $50 buy in at bovada dozens of times and my best place has been 13 but never a final table. I always seem to get very close but and up losing a flip when blinds are up and a shove is required. Just wondering. Thanks

There isn't a certain time frame on which you describe. The worst player in the world could bink a tournament on their first try, just like even the best pros can go on streaks worse than yours.

Welcome to the forum and GL on the felts!

I don't know how big the field is in the $50 but I'd say if you're getting close to the final table in several of these, you probably have the skills to get to the final table.

As has been said, there is no formula for this. Playing solid poker is what gets you there (and even the greats only cash in a percentage of what they play). My suggestion is to post some of those hands that you are saying seem to knock you out and the friendly folks here can help you analyze if you are making the correct moves.

Keep on playing and good luck on the felt. Looking forward to a post from you soon about how you took one down!

multi table tournaments have a lot of variance so in order to reach the final table skill is not going to be enough and luck plays a big role, so just try to make your best game and eventually with some luck you will eventually reach the final table and you will make a big profit from it. good luck!

You can't answer this question, lol. Too many factors. Some new players will win the first tournament they play and some professionals might go 40 tournaments without final tabling a 600-1000 man field. Just keep making good decisions and you will find yourself at one.

What I know, the more you try, the more chances of winning or getting there.

As you can see online, winners are of variety- amateurs and professionals alike.
