I don't know why but I tried a satellite and I won one of the two gtd seats for a $200 tournament. The most expensive I've played previously was $40 so I feel really nervous all of a sudden. Any helpful advice on higher entry tourneys?

There is nothing wrong with playing a little tight at the beginning of the tournament and trying to pick up a pot or two. After you get a few hands in you will start to loosen up and feel comfortable.

Scared money is dead money - play your A game and don't be intimidated.

You should be deep-stacked at least for a while - be creative and have fun.

When you get short-stacked don't wait too long hoping for monsters out of fear - take profitable shoves and hope for the best.

Good luck!

no need to be nervous, no need to fiool around. wait for good hands and spot weak players.
I'm sure 51% are more nervous than you, so be patient, be strong and lay down your good hands if the other one bets like nuts. Don't bluff that much :)

GOD LUCK!!!

I agree - play your usual game. It's been good enough to get that ticket, right? ;)

Good luck!

That's the way it goes, lose here and win the unexpected! If there was a rule for winning, 3 of us would always win...

You may been a higher priced tournament but you didn’t pay that price. Relax and play your game as if you have nothing to lose and only to gain. Play with confidence like you did when u won the ticket.

I agree as well just relax and have as much fun as you can. I recently won a satty to a nice tournament while I've been here in the Caribbean and even though i didn't cash the event it was an awesome experience and learned a ton as well. Best of luck in all your future endeavors

It's natural to get a little nervous, but you have nothing to lose and play your usual game. Read off those other players so you notice they're not better than you,
Next time you get the chance you will not be nervous,

Too funny

Let’s put your situation into perspective, you played and won a seat in a small satellite which allowed you entry into a $200 buy in tournament, and now you are a little nervous J
I once and I repeat only once …… lol……played in a $1,000 heads up match
Now would you like to compare what nervous really feels like ...... lmao
Fortunately for me I made a nice little profit, but the feeling of losing $1,000 cash was more than my little heart could take lol.

If it's on PS, you can still unregister for the tournament and get your money back in tournament-money.
Meaning you can't cash it out before you play with the money first.

Hello.
Before the start of the tournament, you must:
1. Be in good spirits.
2. Patiently waiting for a good occasion
These are my tips for you.

Best advice I can give is:

Just stick to your normal game. Stick to whatever you're comfortable at. Ofcourse in higher stakes players might make a bit less mistakes. But the fundamentals don't change. Play however you would do it normally, you got this :D

Unfortunately ACR does not have that option, wish it did!

Try to remember your winning ways that got you the entry in the first place and you will do fine. Wish you the best of luck.

Congrats! Sometimes it helps me to have one glass of wine to loosen up if I'm really nervous. Thanks for sharing. I think I'm going to try some satys! Good way to try and play for bigger money with less risk. GL!
