I have a game going on with 5 players
----------------------------------------------------------------
SITUATION ONE
----------------------------------------------------------------
SB 100 BB 200 Ante 25

P1 [2200] Dealer
P2 [2511] SB
P3 [1234] BB
P4 [20]
P5 [990]

Game begins and P4 does not have enough chips to post the Ante. How does the betting proceed? Will player P4 be even included in the game as he does not even have any money left after the ante is taken?

----------------------------------------------------------------
SITUATION TWO
----------------------------------------------------------------
SB 100 BB 200 Ante 25

P1 [2200] Dealer
P2 [2511]
P3 [1234] SB
P4 [25] BB
P5 [990]

In this next situation, P4 has only enough money to post the ante and nothing to even post his BB. Is he still included in the game or booted out? Or is he considered all in and the remaining players continue to bet normally as if the BB was posted?

Thanks a lot for your replies.

In both cases there will be a tiny main pot and the short stacks are all in. There will be a larger side pot for everyone else, and yes the normal betting continues.

Yep - no limit works both ways.

Main pot will be puny for these short players. They will only have pots of 20*number players to showdown and 25*number players to showdown.

The side pot will be much bigger than the main pot. Shorties are all in so no more action on them. Action will pass over them.
