hey edi, i find playing position big in the hyper turbo, just in regards to making a push looser in the later positions because you know less chance of getting called then doing so in early position. I wouldn't be pusshing in early position unless I have a good hand, which imo in the hyper tubros KQ constitues a decent hand to push at any point if you havn't had action in front of you. Especially from early position it is less likely you will get called by an A+rag (unless maybe if its suited) and if you do your still not in absolute horrible shape, but there are times you may get called by the kj, or k10 in which case you are dominating.
Hypers have such high varience for sure because you will get people that play any two and an ak can easily get cracked by a 48of caller, or just as easily you push on a small pair and it gets beaten by the overs. As you mentioned you can't sit around and wait for a good made hand so you certainly have to widen your range, and especially play position, try not to get involved if already a number of players all-in unless you do have the big hand (even then its always iffy), but yes some review on push or fold strategy crtainly would be beneficial (probably something I should do myself, as I enjoy the hypers for the most part and do ok in them but recently went on a downswing that put me out of commission as br wasn't all that sizable to be stable).
Anyhow good luck to you, and perhaps may see you at a few hyper felts
