What is your opinion about this type of games? How to change strategy in them if any? General pros and cons?

pros-you can re-enter =))
change strategy-if you have money you can play loser 'cause you will re-enter
cons-people will play loser if they know thay can re-enter =)

general strategy is the same as in regular MTT. if you can somehow get EV+ or chipEV+ do it + do add-ons and re-buys (if possible)

not sure if i like this yet or not, its helping with hitting and smashing gtd but they are slowely changing a lot of their tournies like this. Noticed the big little tournament is this way now, got me a spot in day2 with 9k chips. Guess I could always try and get mutliple entries into it but i'm good with that haha.

Doesn't really have any impact on my strategy playing the tournies.

Kills the overlay in the GTD's$$....I don't like them simply for that reason.

Overlays are not good. Yes it means your prize might be bigger, but if a site is continually putting down overlays, it'll eventually go out of business (see Lock Poker).

I try to avoid the rebuys or re-entry tournaments. But when I do play one, I usually drink Dos Equis. I mean, I try to take advantage of the fact that other people will be loose and try to get some chips early. You can build a nice stack of chips by letting other people play like fools early.

They make plenty of $$$ to handle some overlay now and then. Me...I want a bigger prize pool for my efforts. If one goes down - another site pops up. And once it's regulated and "legal" in all 50....it'll be bonuses and overlays that attract players like they did during the boom of yesteryear....imo.

You really shouldn't play the re-entry tournaments unless you are willing to re-enter without a doubt. People play them very loose at the start since they know they can either double up or rebuy with an all in. I personally don't play them or the add-on tournaments because you almost have to purchase those otherwise you are at a disadvantage. On the plus side, people re-entering usually builds the prize pool :)

if there are continually overlays the gtd will just eventually be reduced, and without reentry tournies on places like carbon they would have severely reduced gtd tournies.

multiday are ftp which rarely has overlay in any sizable gtd tourney anyhow even before the multiday, however when a 5kgtd tourny ends up with a 20k+ prizepool it shows that multiday make for huge payouts in the end.

What I don't understand about these games is exactly how they work?

Ok lets say the game just started, and you can re-enter up to 5 times, does that mean you can play at 5 different tables in the same game at 1 time if you chose to? If that's what that means than why would anyone want to do that?

2nd question, lets say at the end of the re-entry period if you still in all 5 of your games what exactly happens? Do they combine all the chips from all the tables into 1 table for you? Do you still end up having 5 buyings and playing in the same game at 5 different tables?

That's all the questions I have for now but if I do have more I'll ask..

BTW to the O.P not trying to Hi-jack your thread just was wondering about this for a long time

It depends, some games are rentry only which is like a rebuy except you repay the fee on it as well and unlike rebuying into your same seat with a reentry you redraw seats.

On ftp they have multientry, which would be the situation where you can use them as a reentry or you can run them simultaneously. Basically all entries play seperately unless you have more entries than tables available to sit you at. For example if you have 4 entries and entrants only has enough for 3 tables then your 4th entry will combine its chips with your smallest stack. If the position that the combine tabkes place is ITM then you receive the $$ for that spot, and so on. They also have a thing where if you do get ITM with all entrants and bascially don't bust with any of them so that come the final table all 4 have been combined then you get extra $$$$ like 5k, but IMO near an impossible event to occur and would have to be running like 4xgod lol.

Pros: It is possible to play longer in the tournament. No fun to fly out of the tournament as soon as it began, besides if you were waiting for this event specifically. Typically doubles the size of the initial prize fund of the competition.
Cons: For the price rebuy could play another of the same tournament and get more chances to win. Even if you get in the money, but not before re-buy so many times, pays off if the tournament? In these tournaments often play the ones who love aggressive loose game.

I agree that many people play like fools in the re-buys but you have to stoop to their level in certain positions in or to maintain I believe. I get chopped down all the time shoving preflop with the AQ sometimes you have to sneak them in there so dont stay strong on every good hand.
